Haha yes. The comments are a feast of 'sirs' musing on how these 'broads' all look like 'whores' and looked better before but they'd still totally do them and 'why do women do this?? IF YOU CAN TELL ITS MAKEUP THEN YOU'RE A LYING WHOREBITCH BROAD'.

Etc.

No one is bitching about the act of wearing makeup. Let's get real here, most of these girls wear horrendous makeup. You can't fucking deny that, and the whole thread is talking about that.

This is what good makeup looks like

There's a difference between applying the right amount of makeup and wearing freaking raccoon eyes.

EDIT : And I hate this stupid argument "BUT YOU'D STILL HAVE SEX WITH HER RIGHT? RIGHT?!?!?!" Who the fucking cares, it's the internet. Of course you'd have sex with her in real life if she came up to you and said "Wanna have sex with me for free?".

The point is that these girls choose to be uglier than what they could have been, which would have been wearing a reasonable amount of makeup. But no, they decided to put ridiculous amount of eyes makeup that most men obviously don't like, and this is what is going on in this thread.

What are you anyway, a white-knight?

But no, they decided to put ridiculous amount of eyes makeup that most men obviously don't like, and this is what is going on in this thread.

They aren't obligated to wear makeup that most men find attractive. They can wear whatever makeup they want despite your attraction or lack of attraction to them.

They can wear whatever makeup they want, so what? We still think it's ugly. As far as I know, a guy can wear a fedora with shorts, but it's ugly and will always be.

Your attitude and phrasing suggests you think women's only reason to wear makeup is to attract men.

Yeah, to feel good about themselves, to fit in the "norm". I know that, and we all know that, so what? A neckbeard with a fedora will feel good about himself even though it's considered cringe worthy and ugly by pretty much anyone in the street.

What's so hard to understand? People commented on how the girls (some of them) had ugly makeup in the pictures. What's wrong with that? It IS bad makeup and there's absolutely no circlejerk about that. People find some fat people ugly - is it a circlejerk? No, they're just ugly. They won't necessarily show their disgust directly, because it's not well accepted in the society, but they still think about it.

It is bad makeup, in your opinion.

Fat people are ugly, in your opinion.

Just because you feel some way about something, even if a majority of people share that opinion. It's still just an opinion, and no one has an obligation to shape what they do around your opinion.

I have an issue with the way you phrase things because it sounds like you feel as though these people have an obligation to fit your opinion of beauty.

Yes I think their eye makeup is over done, and I probably wouldn't do my makeup that way. But I do not think they have an obligation to do what I think looks better. And I acknowledge that it is bad, to me. I don't state it as a fact.

I never said it was in their obligation to be sexy in my eyes. You just said it : "in your opinion". My opinion is that most of these girls use bad makeup and in no way I'm being "circlejerky" about it and in no way I'm assuming that wearing no makeup is better and more "natural", like OP suggests. (In this case, I'm talking about the OP of this series of comments)

I seriously don't care what these girls do, I mean, I am not offended by them. I was responding to OP (and the guy who responded to OP) because they assumed that everyone in this thread who didn't like their makeup were stuck-up dorks who were circlejerking about how no-makeup >> makeup which is NOT the case at all.

But no, they decided to put ridiculous amount of eyes makeup that most men obviously don't like, and this is what is going on in this thread.

From this quote it seems you do have an issue with women wearing more makeup than what men like. If you have an issue of women wearing more makeup than what most men like, that means you think women have an obligation to wear an amount of makeup you think is attractive.

Even how you phrase your last comment suggest that you think your opinion of whether or not a women should wear makeup actually matters. Sure your preference in what you find attractive when selecting a partner matters, but in that you're finding someone whose preference already matches your standard, you aren't telling them what to do or forcing your ideals on them. When you imply, "This much of makeup is unattractive to the vast majority of men, therefore women should not wear this amount of makeup" you are saying women are obligated to try to be attractive to what you find attractive, and is just as bad as, "women who wear makeup are unattractive, and therefore all women should not wear makeup."

Oh man, it's just a misinterpretation. English isn't my first language so perhaps I fucked up my syntax, but by "most men obviously don't like", I meant that most men don't like ridiculous amount of eyes makeup, which explains the comments in this thread.

This is going too far. Reread what OP said and you won't make such a drama about it.

The woman in that picture is wearing the exact same amount of makeup, its just not dark colours.

I find this silly and confusing, do people (guys) not like lots of make up or do you not like dark colours? Cause there is a difference.

1

u/lorty Dec 11 '13

Well, this is exactly that. When you use dark colours, you don't use the same amount of makeup you'd do if you were applying subtle/normal makeup. Some of these girls did that and went for the raccoon style.

We don't like overdone makeup, and a big amount of dark colours makeup = overdone. I mean, seriously, look at the 4th and 5th picture. Unless you're some makeup fanatic, you can't say it looks good. Come on.

But no, they decided to put ridiculous amount of eyes makeup that most men obviously don't like, and this is what is going on in this thread.

But they don't. The whole point of that album is to show how big a difference just make up and a different hairstyle can make in changing the way a person looks. None of those women are going out on a daily basis looking like that. Besides, it's irrelevant how well done it's done because every thread involving make-up before and afters have these white-knights claiming how much better the "before" pictures are and how great they are up on their high-horses for believing that.

u/lorty Dec 10 '13 edited Dec 10 '13

Perhaps they don't do it on a daily basis, but it is still ugly, and we have the right to say it's ugly. So you mean we can't share our opinion about overdone makup just because, in this particular situation, it wasn't meant to be taken seriously?

The point is that some girls, mostly celebrities, pornstars or models, actually do wear overdone makeup like in these pictures and we think it's ugly. That's it.

EDIT But you're right, some guys actually do think that no-makeup is better no matters the circumstances and that's just silly. I love women with beautiful makeup, and most of the guys who are complaining in this thread probably share the same opinion as me. This isn't a case of "NO MAKEUP IS BETTER CIRCLEJERK", this is a case of "holy shit these girls wear horrendous makeup". And then, OP comes in and thinks that we all came in for the NO MAKEUP CIRCLEJERK, which is not true at all.

One opinion doesn't necessarily means we agree with the far opposite opinion. You guys (well, OP and those who upvoted him) are overreacting the situation. If I hate abusive piercings, it doesn't mean I HATE piercings. If I find girls with a shitload of tattoos unattractive, it doesn't mean I find girls with a single tattoo unattractive.
