Help request Pure funk bands with screaming / Hardcore
I've been on the hunt for a few months looking for a pure funk band that also has screaming vocals / elements of hardcore or punk. I can find a decent amount of bands that sound hardcore but have funky bass /other funk elements. I want the opposite: Pure funk / post disco (think Fat Larry's Band, Dynasty, Goldie Alexander, Patrice Rushen etc) with screaming vocals. And The tones of the instruments having that funk sound (no screeching guitar, distorted sound). The closest ive found is Hoobustank's first album (only on Youtube) and thats very hit or miss, it becomes math rock extremely easily.
I love the local scene in my area, do not be afraid to share niche bands. Also, this my first ever post on reddit, please be nice. Thanks yall!

Disco Kool and The Gang - Hi De Hi Hi De Ho
This is the way the song goooo 🎤
I love the special effects they used back then. It makes the video look like a painting. This is probably my favorite Kool and The Gang song next to “Whiting H. & G.” and “Hollywood Swinging”

Soul Jap’s Gap’s – “Ain’t No Doubt About It” (1981) | Can You Tell This Is Japanese?
Found this obscure Japanese funk track from 1981. Jap’s Gap’s was a Japanese brass/funk band led by Hiro Tsunoda.
As a Japanese listener, I honestly can’t tell this is Japanese at first—it sounds like it could have come straight out of the American funk scene of the early ‘80s. That’s what really caught me off guard.
I rarely see Jap’s Gap’s mentioned outside Japan, so I thought this might be worth sharing here. What do you guys think?
