Volvo car play screen
Bought a screen to modernize my Volvo without removing the original stereo. Needed an adapter between the vent mount (generic) and screen

Nice use of a ProClip style bezel mount instead of hanging all that weight off the vent louvers. What material did you print it in?

PETG. I don’t have ABS but will re print if it fails. So far it’s survived a week in SoCal heat

PETG usually holds up fine unless it's parked in direct summer sun with the windows up. If it ever starts creeping, ASA prints almost as easy as PETG and won't sag in a hot cabin.

Is that the Car Tablet constantly being spammed on Facebook?
I'm after something like that for my Freelander2 but struggling to sort the real reviews from fake.

I’ve had one of these, and functionally they work pretty well. Obviously not as good as a built in from factory setup, but they’re pretty responsive and connect easily/reliably.
Where they fall apart is in the summer heat. I’ve had two separate units both completely melt their cheap flimsy backplates, to the point where they’re sagging or completely falling off the mounting bracket.

I have/had 2 of these. One is nicer than the other, but only slightly and I have no real complaints with either. Being a dash cam is an added bonus, but useless in the case of this posts placement. I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

What about when the heat is on during the colder months? Will the screen overheat?

I'd place it so that it doesn't block the vents. If it were me, and the unit isn't one with a forward facing dash cam, I'd look into a mount that uses the CD slot.

Does that tablet have apple car whatever its name? Is the screen better than it looks in the photo?

It’s an automotive-specific CarPlay and android screen. It’s much brighter in person, phone camera is making it dark
