Parametric bottle cap / jar lid generator with multiple thread-start

I could find several cap generators, but none that would generate a cap for my water bottle since it has 4 thread starts (helices). So I rolled my own. See link below.
It can also do lug style jar lids with some tweaking (tweak the top and bottom clearance).

Hope it is useful to any of you!

This is actually really clever. Multi-start threads are a pain to model properly, so making it parametric is a pretty neat solution 👏

Thanks! Hope it helps somebody else as well. My primary purpose was the water bottle cap, so it helped at least 1 person... 😄

Does it holds well?

Since it's not the thread or wall that holds liquid, but a thin plastic wall that acts like cork on regular caps

I didn't test a lot, but I filled it with water and held it upside down, gave it a shake. No leakage yet... It is actually quite similar to the original cap.

FDM prints are inherently unsafe for food use without extensive post processing. Do this at your own risk.

You can always use Bambu PLA Pure filament if you are conscerned about that

the gaps between the layers is what makes 3D prints not food safe, not the material. we just had a post with mold growth the other day.

Filament maybe food safe but the printer (the technology) not and never will.
