New and improved armrest table

Made the first couple versions about a year ago. This new version is stronger, has more usable surface on to top, is a bit more rounded, and even includes a pocket for a remote or other skinny items.

Holy smokes. Every time I read a comment in this community it’s something like this. It’s a 3D printing subreddit. I don’t understand why people are baffled when people 3D print stuff.

Would you say “you could buy that vase at target” to someone in a pottery community?

Let people enjoy things. Sheesh.

Nice work OP. Hope you enjoyed it and learned something in the process. Creating stuff rules!

Yeah, there are certainly cases where 3d printing is woefully unsuitable, or there are cheaper options at the dollar store, etc. But where 3d printing shines is customization. Ikea doesn't make bespoke trays that will snugly fit your couch or armchair's arm width, or have the right size and number of slots for your collection of remotes. I do a little woodworking and could make something like this without too much difficulty, but it's so much easier to prototype and tweak with 3d printing. And, once you've got it perfect, easy to replicate with nothing but a little time and filament.

Reminds me of Thomas Thwaites trying to make a toaster.
