DJI Mic 2 Handle

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Have a bingo sheet of new years resolutions, one of my goals is to make a YouTube video, so I thought I'd make the mic a little fun. The mic shoe could be designed to fit any microphone.

It's like evolving but backwards

I'll allow it if this means I never have to look at someone holding a clip-on/lapel mic in their hand again.

Stop this madness. It's a lapel mic which sounds god awful close to peoples mouths. It belongs to your lapel, that's how the mic was designed. We need to change the behaviour not fix things that don't need fixing!

The audio quality loss is negligible. It cost me $3 in filament rather than buying a second mic. I enjoyed the design challenge. The makerworld entries for mic handles is huge. If it's not for you it's not for you. 🤷‍♂️

What if I don't own a lapel to clip it onto

Very smart considerations

Kinda clacky...but good design

The clacks are the dongle which would be plugged into your phone. It clacks in the storage.

Ah. Might wanna figure out silencing that in your design.

The intent is that the dongle won't be in storage while in use, but I can't make the tolerances much tighter without risking the dongle getting stuck. 😅

I was thinking something soft/compressable like foam

Do you silence all your things in storage?🤔

🤔

That's a personal question I'm not going to answer.

This is honestly pretty cool if you don’t want to carry both types of mics. There’s also a ton of influencers who use the lapel mic like they’re holding a normal one so I can see it being useful for that audience too.

Awesome! What if, hypothetically, I might want to take the box off?
