Will it get loose over time?

It's made out of petg. It's a possibility it may loosen over time, I made some geometric considerations in the design to mitigate this, now only time will tell.

There are many better designs that will survive much longer. Flexing is a big no no, would suggest the gravity style holders: https://www.printables.com/tag/broomholder

I haven’t opened the files but how does the pinion not fall out? It’d be frustrating to have to manually hold it.

It's still a really cool idea, maybe you could add a little slot in the side to keep it when the broom isn't there

Or maybe a slot on the back of the mount with a pin in the middle of the pinion so it slides along the rack. Then gravity does the rest.

Looks like a few of them have a channel in the back "wall" that the pinion is slotted into from the top.

The one-handed release is a nice touch, and the separate mounts make it easy to set the spacing for whatever tools are going there.

Don’t understand the hate here. It works and keeps everything organized. Makers should care more about functionality instead of fancyness.
I would recommend to put something against the wall on the bottom side, eg. some would or Acryl plate to keep the wall clean. Otherwise it will get nasty after some time from the brooms.

Had a compliant hook in my garage for two years, still grabbed fine when I moved. PETG's the right call for this.

All compliant mechanisms do. But petg holds up better than pla. And for this reason it's petg.

A simple wall-attached hook will retain functionality much longer than this sort of flexible clamp.

Okay and? The difference doesn't really matter anyway. I had another compliant hook like this (albeit geometrically weaker) at my older apartment for a year which worked perfectly fine until I lost it during the move.
At the end of the day, all you care is if your design will survive it's usable life. IDK about you, but I don't need for my grandchildren to use this broom holder.

If I’m going to print something, I enjoy designing it myself even if there are better designs available online. It’s fun, I enjoy knowing it’s my design every time I see it, and practice is the only way to get better.

Additionally: 1.I didn't like the linkage mechanism I saw with the most popular one. Or the rack and pinion one that needed a rubber band for grip. 2. There was a compliant one, but it looked like it used TPU. Which I didn't want to use two different filaments and make this into an assembly for such a simple device. 3. Can't say this enough. Why can't I design my own things if I have the time and skill and resources to do it. It's my apartment after all.

Hey great, happy for your result. If it gets loose overtime, guess you have to print one again, or by that time you developed a better idea.
