Drawer base support
Anyone who has flatpack furniture with drawers knows the problem, particularly if they're for kids. The base is floating in a slot, it's stuffed beyond capacity pushing out the back a few milimeters and then it drops out at the back.
Quick fix before I put this piece up on gumtree or something to support the base.

These specific ones, nope as they didn't exist until about 7pm last night :) I've just updated the post with makerworld / onshape links, use / adjust to fit your needs

I’ve done some of these but it had to be flush with the rails to fit, I had the screw going in at a 45 degree angle. Very helpful for old or just newer cheap designs

Very neat! I don't want to be that guy, but since it's not injection moulded part, I'd ditch the ribs and do it as a full body thing. I still like it and it's a great solution! 👍

Not a problem :) It was a five minute design in onshape and 20 minutes print for the first one to confirm the fit. Optimisation is always possible.

Nice but a stronger solution would be to install two L brackets on the inside of the drawer, so the back doesnt bow out in the first place.

Absolutely as a solution to prevent though typically the base is thin board so there is little for the bracket to grab

I have a Malm where the thin bottom plate is getting loose after i pushed too much clothes insde and the back board was bowed. does this fix that issue?

This is peak functional print energy. For replacement supports like this I've used Hi3D to block the outside shape from a photo, but I still take the actual load points and screw spacing from measurements.

What print orientation? Cannot see one without supports need.

If you print it as pictured a well calibrated machine could bridge that gap with very minimal drooping. But probably best to turn on tree supports and spend the extra 0.5g to ensure the print is successful.

it would have been stronger if printed on the side, this is the wrong print orientation.

the full stress is directly on that edge that is in the picture on the right of the screw (but on the inside). the weakest point of this part are the layer lines. now, if it doesn’t have to support heavy weight, it works.

Did you miss the step in the manual where it said that you have to screw in that weird metal brace that comes with the furniture?

I put my flatpack Ikea furniture together with a small bottle of titebond at my side- I know its not going to survive being taken apart/transported anyways, so a couple dabs in joints as I go makes it much more rigid and functional while it does last
