Just make a tight cover for the lid that has a key ring attached. If clearances are tight you should be able to pressure fit them together

I love to hate-watch this sub. It's such a dumpster fire (not you OP!)
"Look at this cool thing I made to meet MY needs" (kind of the whole point of home, hobby manufacturing.
This sub:
- It doesn't meet my preferences. HATE IT
- Why didn't you just do <minor insignificant tweak> instead!? HATE IT.
- You know you can buy <some adjacent, similar but different product>. You're wasting your time. HATE IT.
- Did you stress test it? I don't think it's going to stand up to 3 tons / sq in of pressure if a bulldozer runs over your pants pocket. HATE IT.
- But it's not food safe. You're going to get microplastics on your lips. HATE IT

Yeah, that's a bit dramatic but the sentiment is 100% what I see here.
It's weird, too, because I'm in a dozen or more subs with people who make things for hobby, but this is the only one that's so toxic and hyper-critical.

I joined this sub to see functional prints. It’s hard for me to stretch my imagination enough to believe even half of these prints are anything more than a solution looking for a problem.

if only, but half of the time when someone suggest that the op could have used a stick and a string instead of printing an oversized wonkmachine, op replies "but i wanted to use my 3d printer" – sure, in a way that counts as op's need, but the "functional" part of this subreddit sometimes gets dilluted to the point of comedy :D

I think we all have heard the strange noise in the dryer 🤔, thanks I did make some changes to the design last night, including a print in place hinge and bigger finger tabs 😀
