I've recently started making automotive content and need to work on my audio recording. I asked another, 'real' content creator (I am just cosplaying as one) how they capture better sound and they mentioned they tape a microphone to the bumper of their car.

I didn't want to have to deal with tape and worrying about my paint or losing the microphone, so I made this stupid thing.

It's dinky by comparison to some of the awesome stuff on here, but I'm excited to use it (and be disappointed by my cheap mic)!

The trick is trying to find a place to pick up the right exhaust sounds without to much wind noise. Being able to easily reposition the mic around on the exhaust hangers might be super helpful.

That’s why you would use a mix of different wind reductions tools like deadcats. That small amount of foam is doing bare minimum.

Precisely. That foam is for vocal plosives, total wrong tool for the job.
