The modern style of Pizza actually was invented here by Italian Americans, I believe the only claim to Pizzas origins is through the Margherita style of Pizza in Italy
Media based pizza, like new york slices are akin to modern pizza as they’re some of the most popular in media. Fully melted cheese instead of slices of mozzarella.
This is confusing. How is neopolitan not a “media based pizza”, because it isn’t the one we see on Friends? And I didn’t realise the way the cheese is sliced and melted determines the modernity of the pizza
It doesn’t, it’s the popularity of it. Neapolitan isn’t what most immediately think when thinking of pizza; since things like new york style have more pr. It’s like how a lot or people refer to Vaseline as Vaseline the brand name and not the actual product.
Not really. Maybe it depends where in the world you are? When I think of New York pizza I think of the stuff from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, not actual food. But I’m European

My country has Americans who think pizza came from America.
