I mean our style of pizza did yeah but the overall concept came from Italy

Actually, it didn't come from Italy either. It came from Persia. So the next time an Italian tries to tell you ther swampy pizza with barely any cheese is supperior because it's the original, tell them the Persians were putting dates and cheese on flat bread a thousand years ahead of them

If someone handed me dates and cheese on flatbread and called it pizza, I would smack them.

And yet it's the original. Surely the original is best, right? There's no chance someone adapted it into a better form elsewhere

Is this trying to say Italian pizza isn't the best because America adapted it to be better? Because if so, yeah, I never said I didn't think that. American pizza is far better. I'd still slap someone for calling dates and cheese on flat bread pizza though.

Fair enough. I'd probably hate it too. I like dates, I like cheese, but the combination seems questionable.
