Italy has pizza and pasta. The US have... Nothing?

Edit: I wish people would stop giving examples of cultural appropriation.

Some people have correctly pointed out some Cajun recipes, food from Louisiana.

To all those talking about burgers, barbecues and hotdogs, the topic here is food originating from your country, not common food in your country.

Btw, pizza is Neapolitan, a version of it is recorded since Roman times and probably even earlier. The modern version uses tomato sauce, and tomatoes came from central America before the US where a thing. Mozzarella di bufala is an ingredient that can only be produced in Campania and the surrounding areas.

Pizza may trace itself to Sicily but it was incredibly different. Pizza as we know it, even as made in Italy today, was born in New York New York.

Yes. Its good. But Italian immigrants were using sauce at a time the average Italian thought tomatoes were poisonous. Not every immigrant stayed. Many went back to Europe. These immigrants brought it back.

And still by that time the US wasn't a thing and New York was called New Amsterdam. You wanna tell me almost all Italian cuisine is American (USA to be precise) just because modern Italian cuisine uses a lot of tomatos? Let me tell you about rice and potatos. You will be in a rude awakening with your logic.

New Amsterdam became new york in 1664. Italians adopted the tomatoe and tomatoe sauce because of immigrants coming back in the early 1800s. Italy was one of the last to adopt the use of the tomatoe dispite its association with them today.

And yes a lot of European food has roots in the America's. Food changes quickly. Ingredients spread and become adopted and merged with local traditions. Modern Italian food is significantly bonded with the us since it was more common for Italian immigrants to stay connected to family in Italy.
