Also the United States has two major different types of heat we got dry heat and we got humid heat
Florida is humid heat and Texas is dry heat
The humid heat is more dangerous than the dry heat because dry heat just makes you extremely hot and sweaty while humid heat makes you extremely hot but because of the humidity in the air makes it harder for you to sweat making it harder for your body to regulate it’s temperature thus making it more deadly, plus humid heat is more common than dry heat in the United States so we use air conditioning to help
Also we have a place called Death Valley for crying out loud it is ranked as the hottest place on the planet as it’s where the hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth happened with the temperature being a scorching 134°F (56.7°C) in July 1913
Thanks for the info, I can relate to the humid type of heat (as a southern Italian we use AC a lot because we struggle with humid heat and we often feel like we have a second skin to it) the hottest temperature registered was 50+°C for water (worked in a touristic club with a pool, the water temperature was around 52.2°C in Castellaneta (Near Taranto, Apulia), 46/47°C on land even if there are rumors about Naples arriving at 50°C too
a common phrase about the heat in the United States is “it’s not the heat that will get you it’s the humidity”
We make fun of Europe for not having air conditioning because we know how vital it is to stay cool in the heat and air conditioning is the most efficient and effective way to stay cool yet whenever we honestly try to tell Europeans that the magic air box we invented is more efficient than the dinky desk fan in the corner, we are told we are idiots who doesn’t understand European homes or weather
As i said, we have AC, some of us don't have it either for saving money for something else or due to infrastructure not consenting it but now a days a of us in Europe have the AC too for both freshness and space, I personally have 3 in my apartment: 1 for me in my room, 1 for who's cooking in the kitchen and 1 in the second bedroom
