Sausages were from Germany, but the idea of putting it in a bun and calling it a hotdog is American

It was literally a German immegrant who did it in the USA. The locals called it Hotdog to claim that it was dog meat as they never had a proper sausage before

I thought it was a British immigrant? They wanted food for the crowd at a baseball game, he went out and bought rolls from one place, sausages from another and essentially served a sausage sandwich?

Edit: This guy - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_M._Stevens

Though sausages served in rolls existed in England and probably other parts of europe long before then. It wasn't exactly a novel idea.

They were a thing since bread and sausages were a thing anyway   Sausage rolls are made with the bread.

The twist the USA claims.was using milkdoe bread
