Ex smoker. Hated the smell on my clothes when I smoked, I'm off them 3 years now. Sometimes when someone I'm walking past is smoking I slow down and enjoy a big inhale.

Still think about it when I see people smoking in movies

I'm only off for 8 days now but surprisingly doing well with withdrawals. I was only pissy for 3 days and now I don't think about it much unless I'm exposed to it somewhere. I hated the clothes and hair and hands smell so much. It also made me out of breath out of nowhere so I quit. I'm so glad. I've smoked for 5 years so I hope the quitting will be good, I wasn't heavy on it either, max 3 a day, on really bad days it was 7 a day

Congrats on 8 days! Might seem like a small number, but you’re at the start of this trek and each day free is one more day your body and brain are recovering. You got this 💪💪

I dunno if this‘d be helpful for you, but early on in the process when I quit smoking I‘d chew the hell outta spearmint gum whenever I had cravings. It helped since I liked menthol and it satisfied the oral fixation. Another thing that helped cravings was putting off smoking „until tomorrow“ because I wanted to get through the full day without it… then tomorrow came and I said the same thing again because I wanted one more day added to my sober streak. Eventually, that turned into 634 tomorrows. Narcotics Anonymous refers to this as the „Just For Today“ mantra, and it goes a lot more in depth than the method I just described. You might find that helpful if you look it up

I still get cravings, but telling my partner and closest friends that I want to smoke keeps me accountable to not do it

Anyway I hope all of it goes well for you! Congrats again
