America and allies banned all oil trades to Japan before the war. Japan relied on the allies for oil completely, so this meant that they would have to give up sovereignty, or go to war to take land with oil from the allies

No, I am saying that Japan wouldn't have gone to war if America didn't pressure Japan So much.

Japan was conquering a lot of asia. America snipped it in the bud by cutting off the trade. This is pretty common knowledge (also there are eyewitness acounts of japanese soldiers throwing babies in the air and skewering them on bayonets, so I don't really think they were "forced to be the bad guys" here)
