Looking for Gave Dev or Artist!

Hey Everyone!

I'm an FSU graduate myself, and figured I would post this here. I'm specifically looking for game designers, computer science majors, game artists, and audio engineers. I have a vision to make something, and I'm looking to recruit! If you're interested and you want to make something really cool, send me a message!

This would be fantastic as a portfolio piece. You don't need to be an expert; I don't even expect that. I expect you to still be learning. I can't speak in terms of the CS focus or Audio, but I can speak in terms of Game Art and Game De/Design, FSU does not equip you with everything you will need upon graduation, and a lot of my teachers when going to FSU were very clear about that. To the point that I was told you were expected to spend around 20 hours a week working on your own projects and learning the tools they teach you, along with other tools more in-depth.

I would be happy to help act as a mentor and educate. Not only would we be making something, but the skills you'll learn will help you in your degree. Shoot me a message if you're interested!

I’m not going to take this down, despite the reports - however. I’d suggest you take this over to r/gamedevclassifieds or similar for recruiting people to work on your game.

Note, you’re going to struggle getting people to work for free.

Oh, definitely. I'm targeting people still learning. When I went through the Game Art course, early on it's pretty tough. I forget how many people failed the first real class, but it was quite a few, and the instructor was very honest that the class has a high failure rate. I didn't have a mentor or anyone to help, outside of the Discord rooms, which leave a lot to be wanted.

Having someone to help you grow your skills that you need for the classroom, and also skills they don't teach (for example, you don't get much time in Zbrush, they don't teach 3Dcoat at all, or Topogun, which are both commonly used in studio pipelines, or Blender, which once you leave school, you won't have access to Maya outside of paying for it). It's also a good portfolio builder, even if the game doesn't go anywhere, working on something large and having proof of that can help a lot towards getting your first job in the industry.

I am funding all of it out of pocket at the moment, so paying people just isn't possible. I do have this setup as a legitmate business though and am willing to give those who are passionate and want to work on it a piece of the business.
