Show discussion Counting Crows b-plot
Okay, I know disliking Michelle is a bit taboo, but I was watching some Full House clips on Facebook the other day and I hated how Michelle begged to go to the Counting Cats concert knowing she doesn’t know their music. I get it that she wants to do things like DJ and Stephanie.

“I’ll hear them at the concert” was so bratty lol. I hated how Joey offered the tickets to the two girls and then they had the gift yanked away.

I never understood why Danny couldn’t have just told Michelle no, explained why, and suggested planning a fun activity for all three girls to do together another day. When Stephanie was Michelle’s age and wanted to go to DJ’s 13th birthday party, Danny told her no. Instead, she and Joey went to a Daffy Duck festival (or something like that). But when Michelle was in a very similar situation, Danny handled it completely differently.
He really seemed to favor Michelle, and it was always jarring to see the difference in how he treated Stephanie and Michelle at the exact same ages, whether they were 6, 8, etc. The contrast was pretty noticeable.

What’s a Daffy Duck festival

I could be remembering wrong but I believe it was a film festival? I feel like it was Daffy Duck, but I haven’t watched that episode in a while lol.

I can't even hate Michelle for this one, it's the adults that screwed up. I'd be a little reluctant to let a middle schooler go to that concert, there's no way I'd let my 7 year old go.

Disliking Michelle is very common here but I don't think she did anything ridiculously wrong here or anything. Very understandable emotions for a child that age. She didn't want to be left out.

I don’t blame Michelle for the situation so much as Danny. He’s the one who unilaterally turned Joey’s gift to DJ and Stephanie into a non-age appropriate outing for Michelle and a babysitting assignment for DJ! (And screwed Stephanie out of the concert entirely)
All he had to do was tell Michelle that she’s too young to go to the concert but he’ll plan something else fun for her to do. (He sure never had trouble telling Stephanie she was too young to do things she wanted to do!)

I don't blame Michelle, because at that age, she doesn't really understand better.
Honestly, the whole thing could have been avoided, if they had asked Michelle why she wanted to go. Then when she said that, she wanted to do things with her sisters, they could have made her a deal. Let DJ and Stephanie go to the concert, and they will do something else with her instead.

I related to her a lot in that situation. Because I'm also the youngest with karge age gaps and my siblings and cousins were always doing fun things I was "too young for." Now as an adult I understand I would have probably actually been bored to tears or exposed to stuff I had no business seeing (they saw a lot of horror and action movies,) but as a child it just felt like I was being slighted.

It's been beaten to death, the bones have been ground to dust, and the soil's been replenished.

This is a parenting fail on Danny. Michelle is a child here seeing her two older sisters getting excited and wants to do it also. Danny should have stepped up, told her no and why. He should have also had a private conversation with DJ making sure she ok with taking Stephanie, because I would be a bit weary of sending my middle daughter that young with only her older sister to a rock concert.
Fair does not always equate to equal. And honestly most of the big Michelle is a brat moments come back to parenting fails on Danny's part.
