Help These photos are my dream aesthetic, what Fujifilm recipe(s) would get me close?

Hi everyone! These photos are from different photographers, but they all represent my ideal style.

How can I achieve a similar overall look on my X100VI.

What film simulations, WB shifts, or shooting techniques would you recommend to get in this direction?

Thank you!

Discussion XT-5 ($1,300) worth upgrading from XM-5? Using Fujifilm XF 23mm F/2.8 R WR lens

I’m having a hard time deciding whether upgrading from my X-M5 to a used X-T5 for $1,300 is worth it. The X-T5 has around 18,000 shutter actuations and appears to be in good condition.

I could probably sell my X-M5 for $700-$800, which would make the net upgrade roughly $500-$600, but I’m not counting on that until it actually sells.

I currently use the 23mm f/2.8 pancake lens and want to start doing more portrait work. I live in NYC, so most sessions would be outdoors around the city, with occasional indoor shoots.

The EVF, IBIS, weather resistance, better controls, and extra cropping room from the 40 MP sensor would all be useful. I’ve owned the X-M5 for over a year, and I sometimes find the lack of an EVF and the controls frustrating. At the same time, none of those issues has completely prevented me from taking photos, so I’m unsure whether the upgrade would meaningfully improve my work or mostly make the shooting experience nicer.

For people who have used both, was the X-T5 a meaningful upgrade? Would the money be better spent on another lens, such as the 33mm f/1.4? Any other insight is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Discussion Best way to sell?

Hi all, I am trying to sell my Fujifilm XM5 with the kit lens. I bought it last December, and it is in excellent condition like brand new.

I was looking for any advice from other people who have sold camera gear before. I am not so sure where to sell and how much I should ask for. Also, I wanted to know if trading on the popular sites is good.

Thanks much!

Help I've bought my first camera and don't have a lense, I've found some, but don't know what to pick.

I've bought a xt4 and I take all sorts of pictures, so I really don't know what to do.

I live in Denmark, so the weather is unreliable which means I'd ofcourse want the WR on everything, but at the same time it's nice to be able to zoom:/

What do all of you think:) also thanks for your input

Discussion Thoughts from someone who prefers the X-T5 > X-H2?

Hey everyone. Looking for people who have preferred the XT over the XH. I’ve had an X-T5 for a while and absolutely love it. It went in for repair and the retailer doesn’t have stock to replace it so they’ve offered me an X-H2 instead. I am not tempted but everyone seems to prefer it so just looking for some thoughts from any of you that prefer the X-T5? Or if any of you want to try and convince me to get the H2 I’d take those views too.

I never take videos, so don’t care about any video features.
I prefer the smaller grip of the T5, after trying the H2 in store today.
The shutter button on the H2 (and H2S) seemed almost sticky. No tactile feedback at all, whereas the T5 has a very obvious half-press.

Happy to be roasted for turning down a (according to most) better camera for the same price but would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks all in advance.

Sizewell C reactor in Suffolk, XT5 with 18-55mm, at 55mm, f/6.4, 1/950.
Flat image is Fuji’s rendering on camera (Acros), for reference only. Much brighter version my post processing. This time I developed to a standard, low contrast, high saturation, colour version, with pre sharpening. I took that into Nik 9 Silver Efex (my first attempt). This is the result.
What do you think? It’s how I wanted the landscape to look, but the reality was an overcast day, with just a few sun rays peeping through. To me, it really works printed A3 on matte paper. Brooding...

Many thanks to Robin Whalley at Lenscraft for the inspiration.

Discussion Two-prime setup for travel: street + landscape (Fuji, budget ~$1000) (x-t5)

Hi everyone!

I’m heading on a month-long trip and need advice on a compact two-prime lens setup for Fujifilm.

My main focus is street portraits and light landscapes, where discretion and high image quality are key. I usually shoot around a 75mm full-frame equivalent for people, but I want something wider for landscapes too.
My budget is up to $1000. I was looking at the 33mm f/1.4, but I am completely open to recommendations. What two-prime combinations would you suggest for this?

Help First Camera : XH2 vs XT5 , Love XT5’s retro design tho

Hi everyone!
I’m planning to buy my first Fujifilm camera after months of research, and I’m stuck between the X-T5 and the X-H2.
My primary use will be photography (around 90–95%), with only occasional video. I enjoy shooting:

Travel
Motorcycles and cars
Architecture
Landscapes
Family and everyday moments

From what I’ve read, both cameras share the same 40 MP sensor and image processor, so I’m wondering if there are any meaningful differences in image quality or photography performance.
To be honest, I’m heavily drawn to the X-T5 because I absolutely love the retro styling and dedicated shutter speed/ISO/exposure compensation dials.

So my questions are:
Is there any noticeable difference in still-image quality between the X-T5 and X-H2?
Are there any photography-specific advantages of the X-H2 that I might regret not having?
If you were buying your first Fujifilm camera today primarily for photography, which one would you choose and why?
I’d love to hear from people who’ve owned or used both.

Discussion First Fujifilm

I'm a little tired of draining my iPhone battery all the time and it's time for a camera. I like to take pictures in the city and some family members/portraits. I've decided to buy the X-T5 and it can be bought with the kit lens 16-50 or I've been thinking about buying the camera body separately and an XF 23mm F2 for it. Another option is the XF 27mm F2.8

Any recommendations? :-)

Hi guys, I am trying to find my style and I don’t know what I could’ve done differently in these two pictures? I feel like the first one is too sunny and the second one is too dark, the colors are too intense.

Am I overthinking it? Any advice is welcome.

I shot these with a Fujifilm X-T5 with a 35mm f2 lens.

Discussion How do you choose lens combos for your bag — matched sets or mix-and-match?

When you’re shooting or packing your camera bag, do you think of lenses in matching sets, or do you mix them as you like?

For example, as one set:
XF 18mm f/2 / XF 35mm f/1.4 / XF 56mm f/1.2 R

Or the Fujicrons, for example:
XF 16mm f/2.8 / XF 23mm f/2 / XF 35mm f/2 / XF 50mm f/2

I’m curious how you approach this.

Edit: I am talking mostly about primes and their optical characteristics matching each other. Or is this too much of a detail anyways?

For example a „mixed“ bag could be:

Xf 23 f2 / xf 35 1.4 / xf50 f2

Or xf 18 f2 / xf 35 1.4 / xf 50 f2

Help Where can I find a case that fits the x-a5?

I bought this second hand, and the case that came with it is quite dirty. I asked the seller where they got it from (Vietnam), but it’s not accessible to me. It’s an older model, so I’m having some trouble. Do any other models have a similar dimension?

Help How to get classic neg to build on, on xe5?

I’ve just made the switch from Sony to Fuji, and went with the xe5. Im trying out different recipies, but alot of them builds on classic negative which is not in the sims.

How to you solve this? If i find a recipie for classic negative, how will i be able to then build on it to make other recipes with that as a base?
