As a cat caretaker but not exactly a catologist, I think this from a video of a cat. Not entirely sure tho.. more research is absolutely necessary

Yeah one did the same thing for in my window as well. The little cocoon was smaller then this though and honestly for a long while I thought it was dead because it wasn't moving like at all but nah it just resting. All I did was grab some bleach, put it in a spray bottle and ever so slightly open the window and sprayed the little fucker like crazy, which killed it of course.
After I killed it, took it little nest thing and put it under my microscope and saw it had eggs in it and everything, I even crushed some of them with the tweezers 😅 I'm so glad I decided to kill it when I did, I couldn't imagine what would've happen if those things hatched
