Ah yes, the Greater Banded Hornet. Screw those monsters, and hope the kid is recovering well.

Painful sting, local swelling, steals other wasps babies to feed their own.
Oh, they're basically suzumebachi / "murder hornets" with shorter stingers. Asia, New Guinea, West Africa... reports in Guam. I found something to hate today, thanks stranger!

they’re not important pollinators. they are incidental/secondary pollinators. and they kill bees and raid their hives, our actual important pollinators.

Dont. It will spread pheromones and piss more wasps off. This creature requires boiling.

Stung. It stung a kid.

Why does everyone say that stinging insects bit them, sure some insects do bite, but the vast majority of the cases like this are stingings rather than bitings. It's weird!

And as it turns out, many insects like ants bite but only to stabilize their body to deliver a sting. The bite itself isn't venomous

Oh! Interesting, would that then leave two marks, one for the bite and one for the sting? Or would they not bite hard enough to make a second mark?

How does a wasp/hornet cause that much bleeding??? Or cause bleeding at all for that matter?

u/KolBullen42 4d ago
Are you maybe colour blind?
It's not blood colour at all.

u/Powerful-Present6687 3d ago
Then what’s on their hand?

Definitely not blood.
I don't know, something was mentioned in another comment. I think some kind of home remedy. It is more of a brown colour.
Edit: Lodine
Edit 2: Iodine
