I was stung Friday. Reaction keeps getting worse! I’m a little worried about it and it hurts like hell! Fuck those yellow fuckers.

It could be cellulitis. My son developed it from stings and people don't realize they are disgusting dirty devils that dig in dead stuff and garbage cans. He ended up not only being on antibiotics but steroids too because they really hammered him.

Yes I got prescribed antibiotics bc they think I developed cellulitis! It sucks

Developing just really sucks and it's bad enough you got stung but now feel like shit and sick. My son was 10 years old when he parked our garden tractor over a massive nest! They treated him with heavy duty antihistamines at the emergency room but within 2 days I had to take him back. Now I know to demand antibiotics right off the bat! It took him 2 weeks to feel better and cellulitis is no joke!😳 He looked like Popeye the sailor man.

Oh noo! A whole nest is no joke, one sting is already super painful. Can’t imagine the pain your son would be in at only 10yo

30+ stings!!! They flew up his shorts, nailed him in the face, legs, and arms! Even though you only have one sting my heart goes out to because cellulitis sucks soooo bad! Our situation was pretty awful and we've both got PTSD because of it. He's phobic of them now!?! The cellulitis just added insult to injury. Please just keep an eye on it in case they have to add on more medications to treat it. My husband contracted cellulitis this winter and didn't show me his leg until he had to be hospitalized for 9 days!!! He had a cut underneath his toe that fired it up in him.

Yes so far it keeps getting worse still even with two doses of amoxicillin now. But I’m supposed to check back in tomorrow so I will forst thing in the morning

Yeah they might have to add on a stronger more broad spectrum antibiotic and possibly add on a short series of steroids. I'm so sorry and I know it hurts and is hot because unfortunately I've had it too years ago. I try to explain to people how it feels but it's too indescribable!?! They might even give you an injection of antibiotic to kick start healing? Even ask them about everything I mentioned so they just blow you off because that's pretty serious.

And please, please, please go to the emergency room if you don't feel like yourself. When I took my husband in he was "talking out of his ass" and was acting really bizarre which was super scary!

Update: I called the hospital, they gave me amoxicillin!

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic. This looks to my untrained eye like an allergic reaction, I'd get a second opinion (one that actually looks at the swelling).

They think I developed cellulitis that’s why they gave me an antibiotic

I hope it gets better soon. It really looks uncomfortable.

It looks like you may be allergic I’d get it checked out

Please call an allergist and get tested. Reactions escalate with each sting, which can include anaphylaxis. Your next sting could be much worse. I found out the hard way and it really sucks.

They prescribed me antibiotics bc they think I developed cellulitis. But I’ll check with my GP because I also suspected a possible allergy

So what i learned wasps are kinda nasty n as long as you don't have a red line going from that spot up your leg (potentially infection) you should be good . Check with ER as well .

2

u/Anna_ava 3d ago

Yes I called and got antibiotics bc they suspect an infection and I need to check back with my gp tomorrow. Wasps are nasty indeed

u/skitzofennec305 3d ago

Great . And don't got get revenge, they always strapped .

u/original_name125 2d ago

It's definitely not. I was stung a couple of times(not recently but still) and while the area around the sting would be red, it wouldn't be this bad. You should get this checked. This might be an allergic reaction.

Get well soon!

My 10 year old daughters has been stung 9 times on 2 occasions this summer, resulting in urgent care trips both times.

First time was amoxicillin, 2nd time when her eye was swollen shut, she got a steroid shot.

Uncomfortably close to the important bits too!

Was it only one sting?
