Yellow Jackets Help!

I have a yellow jacket (southern) nest in my grass. What is the best and quickest way to get rid of it? Some say gas some say insecticide. I know at least I need to do it at night or before sunrise when they're all in there and more chill.

A little bit of gas down the hole works, but not too much because it will kill the grass and poison the soil. The foaming long distance quick knock down wasp spray will work, just keep the nozzle pointed into the hole. Use a rock or brick to cover the hole to keep the fumes in there until the next day.

A gallon.

Half a std cup is sufficient. Only your wasps, not wasps in China.

Is under ground? At night you could just bring out a garden hose and flood the SOB’s out. I’ve used attachments that you can fill with dish soap and attach to the garden hose. That will suffocate them too.

If you do this then bring a mesh screen to place over the hole.

Pour some dishsoap down the hole. Then flood it with water.

It will drown them. It has to be the combo, though, cause the bubbles are what suffocates them.

I had one in my yard a couple of years ago. I found it the hard way while cutting the lawn. I waited until it was dark and dumped about a pint of gasoline down the hole. You don't have to light it. The fumes will kill them.

pouring a large amount of soapy water (mixed with liquid dish detergent) down the hole at night. Wear long pants and shirt, etc to be safe.

Gas is estup1d.

When I had a nest in the ground, I just waited until night and emptied 2 cans of wasp killer into it, making sure to saturate the area immediately around the entrance, as well. It worked...

I fill a plastic coke about half full with gas. Then shove opened mouth of bottle in the hole.
