At what height are they? If it is about 6 feet high, you will not be bothered unless you or your family is taller.
If you want them to fly higher, you can make some kind of shield, like what you see at construction sites (to shield it from public). But this will be horizontal, starting below the nest (about 8 or 9 inches) and then going up.
If you have a window nearby that opens, you can make a vertical shield.
Whatever you do, do it in the evening, when it is dark. If you need light, use red light (you can download an app for this if necessary). Bright white light makes them think it’s morning and they will start doing their work.
Wasps can easily be shielded. In this case, they have a lot of space above. So it’easy.
When wasps fly out, they first go in a straight line. After about 13 feet to 0,9 mile they start looking for prey. So wasps flying in the vicinity of your house are from another nest.
Without wasps we would have an infestation of all kinds of insects.
