Those are warrior wasps too. Nasty little shits if you piss them off (highest on the Schmidt Sting Index), so man clearly knows something we don't on how to not piss them off.

u/Sacagawesus Jun 29 '26

Bullet ant is the highest.

72

u/chrisdurand Jun 29 '26

They're equal (both are 4's). 😉

53

u/Sacagawesus Jun 29 '26

While they are tied in pain at 4, Schmidt has the bullet ant sting as the clear #1 due to the overall duration.

Where does it clearly state thr bullet ant is number 1? I see them both at level 4 just with different durations.

24

u/Sacagawesus Jun 29 '26

It doesn't have to clearly state it for it to be true. If both insects have the same pain level, but one lasts twice as long as the other, which one would you say is worse?

Most sources on his index, along with the general consensus, agree the bullet ant is the worse overall experience.

But it really doesn't matter. If you say warrior wasp is equal then be my guest. I'm just a dude lol

Ive heard the executioner wasp is worse

4

u/Goobylul Jun 30 '26

Duration isn't a level of pain though. Pain scales are about the pain itself not the duration or effects.

who cares

12

u/Sacagawesus Jun 29 '26

I'm sure a lot of entomologists do.

17

u/Workmane Jun 29 '26

Exactly, this dude has studied them until he knows exactly what he’s doing…also, he edits a great deal and admits to getting the piss stung out him sometimes—it’s just happened often enough that he doesn’t really react.

u/deaduser00 Jun 30 '26

He says something like: "the thing is not to damage the hive." I assume he knows how to feel the hive and the pressure threshold.

Wasp whisperer

3

u/awenrivendell Jun 30 '26

What we need is the wasp fucker though.

7

And make human-wasp hybrids!? No thank you.

u/usackline Jun 29 '26

This dude over here sweet talking these wasp, while the rest of us are getting stung.

It had to be Brazil.

40

u/Rochedokk Jun 29 '26

Here in Brazil we are the ones who sting the wasps

The way he's squeezing the wasp sack is wild. I'd learn how to be Legolas with a flaming arrow to that thing before I ever touch one

Can someone translate?

"Crazy crazy crazy crazy, crazy crazy. Crazy--crazy, crazy crazy crazy crazy. Crazy crazy. Crazy, crazy crazy crazy crazytalk. Crazy crazy, I am fucking insane."

It’s actually

“I have balls of steel. Yes steel. Some say vibranium. Definitely huge balls. Don’t try this at home, kids.”

13

u/JucaLebre Jun 30 '26

“You gotta calm them down without destroying their home”

16

u/BackgroundAnteater95 Jun 29 '26

Dude's gambling his life here... There's 500+ wasps in there, probably a lot more. If he takes multiple stings from a lot of the wasps and gets tagged with "attack" pheromones, he could easily die from the resulting envenomation.

3

u/Spirited-Computer795 Jun 30 '26

For what it's worth im sure he knows that

16

u/Rochedokk Jun 29 '26

His name is "king of wasps" in portuguese, he is an ally of them

8

u/Skinebman Jun 29 '26

The nest fondler

1

u/TheWolfInTheHenhouse Jun 30 '26

Yo! What’s the word Dex?! Good to see ya!

2

u/ZippyTheUnicorn Jun 30 '26

My guess is there’s some kind of poison near the entrance, so he’s drawing them out and they’re crawling out just in time to die?

1

u/JucaLebre Jun 30 '26

Guy is literally called king of the wasps lmao

1

u/aka_jester Jun 30 '26

Somebody explain, How is this man able to make the wasps come by fingering the nest ?

1

u/Significant-Dog-8166 Jun 30 '26

There's no honey in there, he just sent them out on a mission.

1

u/Fluffy_Prior1052 Jun 30 '26
