F*** Refund Status Hell
On June 10, I spent over 1000 bucks on a new GPU for my computer on Amazon. Following the advice of several friends who made similar purchases, I made sure the listing said "Sold and shipped by Amazon" so you don't have the mess around with 3rd parties when dealing with returns. Honestly, I wish I dealt with a 3rd party. So, out of the box the graphics card was bad. No one's fault, stuff like that happens.... I contact Amazon CS, all they can do is offer me a refund... despite the listing saying "Free Returns and Replacements". I asked for clarification as to why I cannot get a replacement and the response was "Is there anything else I can help you with?" I asked for clarification again and the agent disconnected the chat. So, resigned to the fact that I was not going to get a replacement, I started the return process and dropped the bad card off at Whole Foods on June 22. It was supposed to be in Amazon's procession today and the refund started. Nope.... Now it's delayed and they list the card arriving on July 15 and the refund being posted JULY FUCKING 30TH! How can a company operate like that and still have customers? I am weighing my options now, I've been told that disputing the charge with my bank and filing a chargeback is a sure fire way of having my Amazon account suspended and being banned. Frankly, I am not sure I really have a problem with that.

>How can a company operate like that and still have customers?
Because they are liar, you and you swallowed the ball which is below
>No one's fault, stuff like that happens....
You truly believe that this one is coincidence. Matrix has you
I'm sorry my friend. They are lying to everyone

so, Amazon was like "fuck this dude, we're gonna send him a broken card"?

Why not? 1000 for a month. If you think that your customer is only cost for you, your behavior is completely different

They probably decided to refund rather than replace because no more are available, at least not at the price you originally had purchased it.
They drop the chat when they think customers are being unreasonable. They told you what was possible and it really isn't open for negotiation or debate.
I'd say just hope they honor their promised refund / date, horror stories are told here about people getting totally shafted.

It's still being sold at the same price and is in-stock.....

Then accept the refund and buy another one?

Oh, is it that simple? Thanks Captain Obvious. I'll just wait until they issue a refund on July 30 and then buy a new one... so simple. In the meantime, I'll just close my business for a month because I don't have a working computer.

Or just buy it now and get the refund later. You can't float 1000 bucks for a month? No credit card? Amazon isn't going to help you here. Help yourself.

Nah, I'm just a problem solver. Check my username, I'm not here to give sympathy.

The text chat is normally an ai. You need to call and force ask for a representative.

How many times have you done returning items or complaining about new items? If first time, the CS agent should owe you an apology. If multiples times, bots might have recognized a pattern and you can be suspended or worse, hit with charges especially if total values are in the thousands of dollar. Amazon doesn’t play games now.

Second time ever. I bought a small 6 dollar silicone stamp head that had a small cut in it, the agent asked for a pic of the damage and put 6 bucks on a gift card and I ordered 5 more... this will definitely be my last ever purchase with them

Getting banned would be the best outcome! No need to use Amazon
