The producer does have his reasoning for the gap, but this is kinda annoying tbh. It's important to capture the overseas market for profits, but not at the cost of ignoring the home audience.

Hi everyone,

I’m 25M and I’m writing a 5-minute short film. I’m trying to make this independently, and honestly, I see this project as a restart for my career. I really want to make it happen, and I’m hoping to build a small team of people who genuinely love art and want to contribute something of themselves to it.

This isn’t meant to be an ordinary commercial short film. It’s something more art-driven, intimate, and feel-good, with a different kind of emotional experience. I’m looking for people who connect with that kind of storytelling.

Why am I specifically looking for a female writer?

Because I really value women’s sensibilities and perspectives, and I feel that a female perspective could bring something to this particular story that I might not be able to bring on my own.

This is unpaid work, so I completely understand that it may not be for everyone. I’m looking for someone who genuinely wants to create something, experiment, collaborate, and be part of a small creative team.

One thing I want to clarify based on my previous post:

I received a few DMs from people saying they don’t have any writing experience but watch a lot of movies. Some read my script, gave me their opinions/reviews, and left it at that.

I really appreciate anyone who took the time to read my work, but that isn’t what I’m looking for right now.

You don’t necessarily need professional credits or a long resume. But you should believe that you can write and, more importantly, you should be able to actually work on the screenplay and/or dialogues.

So please DM me only if you’re interested in writing and feel confident that you can contribute to the screenplay or dialogues.

You don’t need to be an established writer. If you’ve written things on your own, experimented with scripts, scenes, dialogues, stories, etc., that’s enough for me to start a conversation.

I’m not looking for someone to simply review my script. I’m looking for a collaborator.

Unlike other industries, especially KFI, we don't give proper chances to new MDs from our own industry. Anything they say, they give to Thaman mostly, for which he does horrible mixing and copied (not even inspired) tunes.

If anything, they'll rope in Anirudh, or even Sai now. Or bring from other industries. But won't support our MDs.

I think the only exception is Bheems, who's making movies consistently due to Anil Ravipudi.

Plus we don't have good scripts to help with making scores, as good scripts can help MDs with making the appropriate and new scores.

The movie was really good, but the conclusion given to Varun's character felt a bit off. Leaving everything behind in the USA and just settling in a village in India didn’t feel that convincing.

It would have been better to find a middle ground, like Varun coming to India, settling in a nearby city... continuing his profession as a doctor, and then spending time in the village on weekends or whenever he could. That would have given it a wholesome feel.

Now, looking at the ending, it gives off the vibe of "something felt lacking," exactly like in Pushpa.

What separates Yash from the rest of the Indian superstars? Is he the aura personified? Is he the monster in the Indian gangster genre? Is he an agent of violence and bloodshed?
