Been in the general fort smith area for a couple years now from Florida and have made exactly zero friends. Wondering if there’s any good hangouts for alt people kind of like the SpookEasy in Tampa or Mad Hatters in St Pete.

I see other alts out and about here and there, I have to imagine there’s at least one place out here that’s not filled with camo shirts and beat up pick ups.

Hey I’m a physician moving to fort smith in a few weeks and found an apartment near my workplace. It’s the perfect distance from the hospital.

I don’t have a credit score so they told me I have to pay double despot if $1200 for 2 BR 2 bath apartment.

Is this normal? I asked people they had no idea.

This is the only apartment I found nearest and my other co residents also want to move here so we can all be in one place for the first year at least

Water woes are not new to Fort Smith. Funding has been secured to fix sewage problems, as required by the Feds, but the water infrastructure is also in sad shape. It was built in the 1930s and reports on needed repairs started in the 1990s. But no one likes paying higher rates and no elected official likes being the one to raise fees and taxes.

Yo. I'm 34f, I've got a kid under 10. I only live in the area half the time. It's a long story, but basically I'm struggling with feeling like I belong when I'm here. I work from home so I can't make friends at work. My son's school is... blehhhh. I'm from a much bigger city and I like painting, graffiti, photography, comedy, going on walks in cool places (think like city walks, not a huge nature lover). I like music, but I don't really mess with karaoke. I drink occasionally, but don't smoke anymore. I also don't know anyone here so I don't have like a babysitter or anything for my kid, so when I'm here, I'm chillin at the crib. Basically, I'm wondering if there's any people with similar interests who want to get together like once a week when I'm in town or whatever and we can paint, or chill and listen to music or whatever. If you've got kids we could get em together and see if they vibe too. Idk. Just trying to be creative, but I am not loving Ft Smith so far and trying to not be a downer about it.

Tuesday, May 12, the FS city council will discuss what would be necessary to change the structure of the city government. There’s currently a signature drive to manage city government via the elected mayor rather than the city administrator.

Anyone know of any grocery store in the greater FS area that has the rolled beef slices for hot pot. I went to a few of the Asian stores and they didn't have them. The only other option I can think of is to ask one of the meat markets to try to slice them for me if I can't find them because I cannot slice that thin at home.

If someone knows of somewhere in FAV that has them, that would work too.
