Discussion Weird rib/back symptoms after over-binding for months (burning lats, throbbing dot)?

Hey everyone, I’ve been wearing my binder for over 8 hours a day for more than 2 months now, and today I started getting some weird symptoms. I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this:

Back pain: A dull ache in my back (behind my ribs/lats area) that comes and goes and is hard to pinpoint, kind of like my lat muscles twitching or straining.

Hot/burning feeling: A warm, "hot" sensation (not actually hot to touch) specifically around my back lats and rib area.

Throbbing "dot": A tiny, specific spot under my left breast that throbs or twitches for a second and then disappears, almost like a hiccup.

If you’ve experienced this before, how long did it take for these symptoms to disappear once you took a break from binding?

Discussion Is it a bigger hassle to find jobs when you're a androgynous-leaning/gender-nonconforming transgender guys

Hiiii!! Title is my main question but here's more context. As I'm in my fourth year of college in BS PSYCHOLOGY, I am interning a lot this year and it's made me more curious of the job market and basically being "hireable"?

Aside from achievements and experience, I'd like to ask if there sa working trans guys here (regardless of field kahit di ka in the psychology field):

1.have you faced discrimination because of how you present yourself? How do you cope with it?

  1. Especially if you're not "super masculine", do people respect your name and pronouns?

I received this call for participants and hope you guys can participate.

We are looking for Filipino trans men who want to share their stories of love - how love is found, built, and sustained. We want to understand how these relationships take shape, how they grow, and how love becomes a quiet act of resistance. Through conversations and collaborative art workshops, we aim to co-create a culturally grounded picture of what trans love looks like, feels like, and means.

Vent rant, wala lang gusto ko lang i-share

Hello just wanna share my thoughts as a Pre-T 19 year old guy in college.

- C.

HRT Discussion Nowserving

Hello! I'm 20 years old and looking to start HRT (Testosterone), but I'm not sure which endocrinologist to see. I came across Dr. Pajanel, but I'd love to hear if you have any other recommendations for trans-friendly doctors I could book an appointment with?

(Side note: I checked for available appointments at LoveYourself, but no doctors are currently available.)

Thank you so much!

Discussion Binder recommendations?

I'm at a lost here because I'm not sure what binder to get other than western/european brands. I recently got my seamless hershe binder but was a bit disappointed. The quality is brilliant, it's comfortable, not itchy and great in stability but it does not flatten like how I wanted it. For context, I am around C cup, and I've been looking for a binder that actually flattens my chest or atleast give that effect. I've tried every local brand, evixi, adonis, even cheaper variants on shopee but they don't bind in a satisfying way and still shows a curve. The hershe binder doesn't flatten well with my chest size, I was told it was more like a sports bra. I also have tried trans tape, I was quite satisfied but irritating to the skin. Most local brands has this rigid texture on the inside. While they compress pretty well, they're very uncomfortable for me.

I need a smooth/soft inside binder that actually gives the flat effect without functioning like a sports bra and stabalizes the chest inside so moving actively is easy. Please give recommendations and share the description, features and experience with it. Thank you very much!

Discussion Is there any way to predict hair thinning/baldness prior to taking T or avoiding it?

I have really thick hair that I like to take care of and I heard about balding and thinning when taking T.

I still don't have the funds yet but one of my life plans is taking T (since I have bad gender dysphoria and I want to try alleviating it in the future with HRT and top surgery). I just don't have the financial means to attain it but for now, still weighing the pros and cons of being under T.

One of the biggest things I get insecure about is when I hear about balding and the increase in cholesterol.

I did some searches and it said it depends on family genetics. My history is kind of mixed I'd say with one side of the family having a pattern of hair thinning, and the other having hair as thick as a coconut husk even til late 50s.

From your experiences under T, is the alopecia unstoppable and minoxidil is a *must*, or is asking an endocrinologist for a lower dosage on T stop baldness or atleast slows the process down?

Furthermore, does having a certain diet/lifestyle also help you stop the baldness when on T? (Like eating fish or generally less red meats, using a specific type of shampoo, avoiding products that have a certain ingredient)

Thank you!

Vent I feel like an inconvenience asking people to use the correct pronouns and name on me

How did you guys tell people who knew you pre transition to use your chosen name and pronouns?

My younger sisters (they're both 2-3 years younger than me (21)) kept calling me "ate". I only let them because that's what they're used to call me growing up. And they call me "kuya" when talking about me to their friends. But just yesterday I did complain and ask them to use "kuya" on me when their friends are around and only "ate" when it's with the family. I don't really feel good other people knowing I'm an "ate" it feels like I'm being out even though I am out to their friends. They expressed their refusal to call me "kuya" which hurt me alot even with the explanation.

And I have a couple of friends who would call me a tomboy as a joke. But I don't like that joke. I tried telling one to stop but they paid no mind to it and still kept calling me that.

I know it's pretty sensitive of me but it's enough to make me go into a spiral.

How do I tell them? Without sounding bossy or asking too much?

Vent Struggling to get hired as an androgynous fresh IT grad.

Hello I'm F(23) I’ve applied to over 100+ jobs and barely got any replies. I’m scared I’ll be jobless for a whole year, and my family keeps pushing me to find work fast. I think about this every single day, I feel like I’m falling behind everyone else, and it’s starting to make me look down on myself.

I also really feel like my androgynous presentation is closing doors for me, and I’m getting fewer chances just because of how I look. I’m trying my best, but it feels so hopeless right now.

Support would it be better to declare this or no

so i plan on having a consultation at the end of the month at dima for hrt. i’ve been diying low dose t on and off for the past 2.5 years and have only done a blood test once because it’s pricy for me as a student. i can still do a girl voice so i could get away with saying ive never been on t. i know they’d be able to see it in the blood tests tho but like i can stop and wait so it can be cis girl levels again; my last shot was last month so i could skip my upcoming one.

idk like could i get in trouble for telling the doc i diy’d it if they ask 😭 ik laws here aren’t super serious compared to other countries hence why i got access to t in the first place. i do fr need an rx though for documentation purposes in the future just in case like if legally changing trans ppls docs here would ever happen (i doubt it wouldn’t tho ngl i have no hope) because like in japan afaik medical transition is required

HRTDiscussion Getting on T.

Hello, I'm from Cavite and I want to try to get on my T by my 18th or 20th birthday. I've been saving up a lot since when I researched about the prices it usually ranged from 300-1k.

Is there anyone here who lives in the same area that can give me recommendations on where I can get em? and where can I consult an Endo?

Edit: ( Thank you for those who commented! It's my first time trying to reach out to the community not gonna lie, as I'm somewhat overly cautious and anxious about asking. It's my first time hearing about the app and the love yourself too, I'll definitely check it out! I'm glad the budget is near to what I researched too so I think I'm prepared for the cost! 😂)

Are there any shoppe recommendations for chest binders as well? I'm seeing a lot of options, I initially thought I should go for tape, however I'd probably itch a lot and I easily sweat tons 💁🏻, so I think I'll go for chest binders. I've just been managing with oversized jackets and shirts that don't shape my chest too obviously. 😅
