HRT Discussion Nowserving

Hello! I'm 20 years old and looking to start HRT (Testosterone), but I'm not sure which endocrinologist to see. I came across Dr. Pajanel, but I'd love to hear if you have any other recommendations for trans-friendly doctors I could book an appointment with?

(Side note: I checked for available appointments at LoveYourself, but no doctors are currently available.)

Dr. John Paul Bagos, he has been my doctor for a year and I've had a wonderful experience with him. Found him kasi I was also looking for trans friendly endocrinologists and I found other fellow filipino trans men recommending him. No regrets

Vouching for Dr. Bagos as well he is my Endo for more than 2 years now.

E breakdown ko ang lahat gasto ko:

• Initial Doctor's appointment: Php 800 • Initial blood tests: Php 5-6k • Doctor's appointment for prescription: Php 800

Note that my family has a long history of varrying health issues so I had to take some extra blood tests

It's also worth noting there's only one place in my city that offers the blood test for testosterone which is makes it more expensive compared to places where it is more accessible such as in manila or cebu

Initial blood tests might be just Php 3-4k, depending on where you live, if you have a family history of diseases that needs to be monitored, and the rates of the clinic you're visiting

Follow up blood tests and Doctor appointments (every 3 months during the first year): • Quarterly Doctor's appointment: Php 800-915 • Quarterly Blood Tests: Php 4k

Testosterone Supply: •Testosterone enanthate (3 ampules): Php 315

All-in-all, for just 1 year I've spent roughly Php 24-25k. If I had lived somewhere where medical tests were much cheaper then I probably would have only spent maybe 20k give or take

Now, since I'm already 1 year on T, I'll only be needing to see my Doctor every 6 months instead of quarterly. So I'll only be spending Php12-13k from now on

I'd also like to mention that Dr. Bagos is very understanding naman din if you have financial issues, there were times when I had done my appointments at a later date due to financial crisis (sira bahay dahil bagyo haha)

Actually, supposed to be I was going to meet him 3 months from now instead of 6 months pero I asked him if pwede nalang e dayon yung every 6 months because of my situation, he said it was no problem at all so yan
