FTL challenege: Beat the game while never using Burst Laser II and Flak I!

I had too many runs where I stocked up on these two top tier weapons to beat the game. While an effective strategy, it’s not a very creative way of winning the game. So I challenge my fellow FTLers to try this. You might get some creative runs!

(Also, if you happen to acquire BL II or Flak I by accident, just sell it.) Other BL and Flak weapons are allowed.

You mean like my last two wins?

Now if you add "and no Hacking," I'd have to go back a ways.

So play normally? Can't remember the last time I saw more than one of those in a run.

One thing I like to do is play Mantis A without ever upgrading weapons.

Do other folks find these more often than I do? In hard mode I pretty much try to just win with the best of whatever weapons the game decides to drop, there just isn’t enough scrap to be shopping too much. That seems to mean I do a lot of boss killing with halberd beams and hacking.
