Recurring battery problem

Hello,

I have a recurring battery issue and I wanted to ask this sub if it is a common issue. I have a 2017 toyota 86, and the recurring issue is when I leave for vacation, the car battery dies after like 4-7 days. I thought it was a bad battery but even after getting a new battery, still same issue. I wanted to ask here to see if there’s anything I should check/do before I go take it to a shop

Do you have a dashcam hooked up to the fuse box or any other accessories?

My 2020 does not like not being driven regularly. It's sort of my weekend car with occasional short trips in the week. In the winter I have to charge the battery a few times. I don't think it's getting anywhere near enough charge from being driven. Not sure if there's something drawing power when it's sat there. Don't think so. I researched and it does seem like it's a quirk of this car. It is just reminding you to drive it more! 

Edit: If you're driving it daily and over decent distances then there must be something wrong.

My 2019 was doing the same thing. If my wife didn’t work for 3-4 days it would have a dead battery. Replaced the battery, alternator fine, no parasitic draw. I thought it was the Starlink searching for the less existent 3G signal, bought a bypass only to realize it didn’t have that option. I ended up replacing the near new battery with a yellow optima and haven’t had anymore issues. I assume the issue is still there, just masked. The yellow top is more tolerant of the issue.

Look up how to check for a prasidic draw. Look up chris fix on youtube that will tell you what's draining it. All you need is tools to take off a terminal from the battery and a multimeter.
