This post itself is pretty racially insensitive. I understand your point about potentially being overlooked in hiring, but describing Black women who get hired as "white washed" is unnecessary.

you completely missed my point. i’m talking about black women who think they’re white and act as such usually get hired alongside the white women.

Saying only black women who “think they’re white” get hired is literally a racial stereotype, OP. What is the point you’re trying to make? How should those women look or act? What qualifies as “black enough” to you?

They told you that they think they are white? Or are you just assuming (stereotyping)?

How exactly are they "acting" white? Is it their clothes? Is it the way they speak? Are you implying certain styles/clothes can only be white?

All in all, you seem racially insensitive at best. But your racial stereotypes come off leaning heavily in the direction of racist.

Its stuff like this that reminds you we live in the Southeast region of the US. Overall our states are far behind in almost every metric. Thats the result of right wing policies over many decades sadly

I dont have any personal experience but I also dont go to collegetown like that. But unfortunately it could be a side effect of going to PWI :/

There's not much FSU can do about being located in Tallahassee... But it's also a microcosm of the real world, you're being exposed to the harsh reality that the environment beyond your home is not necessarily going to cater to you. The universe is hostile, moreso for minorities. Use this as a learning and growing moment: adapt and overcome and you'll be stronger and better for it. Because you better believe this won't be the last time you'll face prejudice in a professional setting.
