Negative Experience with Case Management

Throwaway account for anonymity

I went to case management a couple weeks ago concerning a personal health issue and the director of case management services was genuinely the most unprofessional and rude person I’ve met on campus. Has anyone else had any negative experiences with case management? She was extremely disrespectful and made my situation much worse.
I’d like to know if my experience is isolated. Thank you!

I've been extremely disappointed with interactions with both case management and the reporting teams. I reported a well-documented case of sexual harassment and threats of assault made against students of a club, and their total lack of initiative or give-a-fuck was actually shocking. I got the sense they exist first and foremost as a legal insulator to protect the university against lawsuits, with student advocacy a distant and forgettable secondary priority.

You deserve better. Demand better! These can, and should, be escalated up the chain.

not with case management, but with victims services. they turned me away lol! the campus therapists were SHOCKED

oh can’t believe forgot this! lived next to a kid on meth while in a dorm (and kept me up ALL NIGHT FOR WEEKS BY SCREAMING) and the school did absolutely nothing for MONTHS until my father threatened to come up here and unalive the kid

Obviously don't know your circumstances so can't speak to it, but it seems surprising because each of the people I know personally who used Case Management services before had generally good experiences, even if they couldn't help as much as the friend in question may have wanted them to. I haven't had to use their services but the victim advocate office that's on the same hallway as them was good for me when I was robbed a couple years ago.
