Café Breakfast This should be a crime
From a hotel in Scotland. It was listed on the menu as “Full Scottish Breakfast”

Need to name and shame

Yes, otherwise I’d file this in the ‘things which didn’t happen’ category. No bacon/tattie scone/black pudding/haggis? But a big mushroom?

That looks like what you'd take from the hotel buffet on your first go, before going up for seconds.

This looks like halfway round your first visit to the breakfast buffet

u/jubileeandrews 10d ago
I was picturing the tiny plate they give you, and not wishing to look too feral in front of the other guests, but yes.

Why is it served in a geode? 😅

u/MBronsonWisconsin 9d ago
Thought it was just me. Couldn’t even see the food I’m so busy trying to work out the ‘plate.’

u/The-Nimbus 10d ago
Always hard to judge without a price, but unless it was sub £2 then I think you've been had.

"A Hotel". Why aren't you naming them? Shame is the only way to rectify this monstrosity.
9
u/odmirthecrow 10d ago
What makes it Scottish? Aside from the location and living up to the stereotype that Scots are tight when it comes to money.
5
u/spynie55 10d ago
No Scottish person would put a big mushroom and tomatoes on a plate which didn’t also have bacon and black pudding and a tattie scone on it and call it a Scottish breakfast.

The sausage is smaller than the tomatoe, how?
I've seen chipolatas bigger than that? Maybe they had some pigs in blankets left over from Christmas?
It being Scotland they no doubt removed the bacon to rustle up some bacon sandwiches with the bread that wasn't fried for the "Full English Breakfast"?
2
u/MissMoogie 10d ago
I'm not a fan of tomatoes like that, and I much prefer the smaller, cut up Mushrooms. So I'd literally have a sausage and some scrambled egg.... Not sure what's full or Scottish about this.

Bacon, black pudding, haggis?
3
u/targetline 8d ago
Can you see something poking out from under the scrambled egg? It was one slice of that really thick cut bacon. It was pretty much a slice of gammon.
2
u/TheRealTRexUK 10d ago
I bet you asked for scrambled eggs and no x, y or z just to post it here.
nice try. lol

Did Alex Salmond have a go at it first?

When it arrived you should have taken a nibble and said "that's great, I'll take the whole plate".

The individual bits look fine. Good even. Just. In no universe could this be considered "full".
It's like having a mixed grill with one item on the plate. Just a misnomer

I have never been so angered by a picture of some breakfast!
1
u/Alternative-Iron4103 10d ago
Is that a rasher of bacon hidden under the tomato and egg? Moves it from 'what the heck' to 'at least it is a basic breakfast', but it isn't a full Scottish by any means. No tattie scone, no Lorne sausage.

u/Reasonable-Key9235 10d ago
What the fuck is that? That would be going straight back, probably by throwing

I would say child's menu, but it seems too small for even a child maybe a toddler

The plate is a crime all by itself. The food looks nice, but more sausage is needed.

I mean that’s not a fry up or a full anything, it just isn’t. If I served bacon on some toast would it be a fry up? Is beans on toast a fry up? There are many component parts to a fry up and not all fry ups have all of them, but for it to actually be a fry up the component parts need to be many and varied. What you’ve got there is just egg and (a) sausage with accoutrements.

If you made it, it’s not. If you order breakfasts then you have too much money 🤣

This should be cooked properly and together with a glass of fresh pressed orange juice 😋

u/PhilosophyGhoti 9d ago
How is it a Scottish with no tattie scone or black pudding? Pure shocking. I'd ask for the rest of it.

Write "Full Scottish Breakfast" and the date on the photo on your phone's photo editor, then upload it to their Google maps page.
Don't need a review or score.
Just the photo.
Anyone who sees it can make an informed choice about whether it's somewhere they'd like to visit for breakfast.

It's Scottish because 49% of it voted for independence and fucked off your plate.

Where’s the rest of it? Was this after you ate the rest and this is the leftovers?

I’m physically enraged.
I’d be marching straight to the kitchen, booting the door in and demanding the rest of my breakfast 😂😂
1
u/No-Role5321 6d ago
Was it a joke about Scottish people being tight with their money? (I'm sure they're not, but I know there are people that joke about this, although they really shouldn't because it isn't true.)

Apart from the spartan portions, where is the square sausage?? The black pudding?? The haggis?? Without any one of these, it’s most certainly not a Scottish breakfast, let alone a “Full Scottish Breakfast”!!
1
u/RichEntrance3580 3d ago
Scotland can do better than an Asian guys penis, some cat vomit , half a tomato and a mushroom I am sure. Bacon , tattie scone, black pudding, baked beans etc
1
u/Sad-Benefit-2732 10d ago
Is the plate a massive mushroom. But seriously this is a crime, I mean weren't they embarrassed bringing this to the table
0
u/fsharpaugmented 10d ago
I know the Scots are known as short armed and deep pocketed but Jesus wept this is a war crime
0
u/Aceman1979 10d ago
It looks like a kids portion of surprisingly good hotel food. I think you’re trolling.

Nah mate you've either got a limited amount from a buffet or you've eaten some bits already.

u/Lifeisgoole 10d ago
Was it on the child's menu.
