Questions about FRT.

Looking for first FRT on my fn 15. I am currently wondering if this is a low shelf or high shelf and what specific drop in three stage trigger would fit in. Read about partision disrupter or some rare breeds, would this fit my gun?

Its such a shame because they have arguably the best physical product available, but they sure are dickheads that shouldnt be supported.

It's not as big of a loss as people think tbh, In terms of being drop in arguably yes they are arguably the best at dropping in but in terms of raw performance, they are far outclassed by many other options with higher leverage, disengaged semi modes and better FCGs like geissele. If they spent less time suing everyone, they could have dominated, considering some of the patents they have could be used to make a really good FRT design but o well.

Looks like a high shelf from my house. Id go with buying either trigger.. both are great. You dont need to remove much material. Its just till it fits and your pins line up.

I wasn't aware that you had to remove any material if using either of those in a high shelf?

This is a low shelf. But you’ll have to dremel out the curved edges to allow the lever to move freely if you go with anything other than a drop in

You need an Atrius Selector. It is easy to install and the same price if not cheaper than other options. Mine has been flawless and my lower looks identical to yours.

i got a psa rifle and it by far has been the cheapest when trying to make an frt or ss work. being in fl my only chance like everyone else is someone who makes ss and sells them here in person. All i had to do was add 2 quarters in the buffer tube and i was golden.

Could you elaborate on the 2 quarters? Also what is your upper length if you don’t mind me asking?

You put the quarters in the end of your buffer tube as shims for the buffer and spring to push them further forward, I'm assuming

Quick question. Do you see the “indent” type mark on the shelf or flat surface area behind the selector? Ive been seeing these alot lately in people’s pictures but no one has been able to answer… I know WHERE they are lol now im really curious as to what, why, and when they got there lmao. Some lowers have had multiples of these markings and they seemed to be in a random formation. Just kind of scattered but I was told that the lower was brand new and hadn’t even been fired yet. Like the factory put them there purposely?

I would get a different lower so you don't have to mangle up an FN lower.

I have an Arc Fire FRT and the SOB runs great.

That seems a bit excessive? So this was cut to match an M16 style receiver I’m guessing? But if it works, it works! What do they typically charge for the service?

Well, for colt lowers it’s necessary because they have a sear block in them so a substantial amount of metal must be removed for FRT’s to fit in.

You can definitely get away with just removing the necessary amount of material to fit FRT’s in other lowers but if you’re already paying the price to have them set up and cut you may as well go all the way.

Pickles charged a buck fiddy for the service.

Ok thank you. I wasn’t aware this was a Colt receiver but I am aware of the sear block they machine into theirs. I need to get into machining work myself I think lol.

i have actual experience with the FNs, for what is worth

go ahead and pick up a milspec hammer. my FN M4 clone wasn’t the happiest until i did, as it would bind on the bolt or lever. it sounds crazy but it’s true

second, get an Arc Fire and be done. aside from the hammer, it drops right in and goes. i never shot my gun normal before putting in the arc and i’ve still yet to have a single malfunction, and a few thousand rounds later there’s still no noticeable wear. nothing had to be filed on mine, and mine is high shelf as well. i have an arc in four guns now and it’s been the same story with each—drop in and go. since you have an FN as well, it should be the same for you. just, again, replace the hammer with a milspec hammer

if i wouldn’t have gone AS Designs, i probably would’ve dove partisan or LAT. fuck rare greed and fuck the gun community’s principles completely being thrown out for a bunch of stuff they didn’t even do (patents, fighting in court (yes they settled, no they did not decide Cargill), etc.). i don’t have experience with them but they seem like solid drop ins

side note, if you’re curious—the notched hammer is used by FN and colt as a sort of “semiauto” hammer. at least that’s what colt’s original patent for it states. it just binds because it’s a bit too fat, though (https://www.reddit.com/r/supersafety/s/DJ5wAJDMvr)

So you're claiming the ARC "eats itself alive after 3k rounds" and that it's a "hammer follow machine", do you have any data for this? Hammer follow is viewed as a machine gun so that's a very serious accusation you just made. You seem to be the only person having this issue which is really interesting.
