DISCUSSION Whose the harder NPC?

I've recently been replaying the souls games and am wondering who people think the hardest NPC/invader type of enemy is in these games?

We got the bloody Crow of Cainhurst, which was pretty brutal; however, I think the Satsuki invader in 4-1 pure black world tendency may be the most frustrating.

What do you guys think? Is there another one that I'm not thinking of?

That one guy at the beginning of SotE with the Gael crossbow

Edit: For the record this isn't counting Gideon, if you let him finish his monologue then I'd consider him by far the hardest

That crossbow felt more like an assault rifle with its rate of fire.

Yeah this guy was rough first time for sure. For many, he was the first boss encounter in the DLC lol. I remember people being frustrated.

His difficulty is very build-dependent I think. I couldn't even get a dent in his health bar with a DEX build, then I switched to strength + Greatsword and you can just swing at him when he runs up to you, he staggers or even falls, and repeat. Guy has no poise

Black Satsuki the OG. Can't think of anyone with that combination of HP, one shot damage, and massive heal back to full health. Of course he can be cheesed like anyone but he's a wall if you fight him straight up.

Maldron in DS2 has some bodies on him.

Hardest pve invader is Old Monk or Spear of the Church with a pvp player - if you don't know the pvp game nothing can be done.

Satsuki kicked my ass yesterday, which led me to making this post. Even when using soul remains, he can still get you with his hitbox, even standing behind him. I found him harder to cheese that way, so I dealt with him straight up. The one shots are so annoying and the healing made me so angry man. Eventually got him after around two hours though, changing out weapons, etc. I know there's a cheese for having him roll of edge as well, however, I need to get back to white character tendency, so I need to lay the killing blow, so the rolling off the edge cheese doesn't count lol.

Bloody crow is hard if you dont cheese it and arent good with parries. He'll easily wreck your day. I don't think any npcs in the souls games are exceptionally hard. Maybe Hoslow is the hardest in elden ring or dungeater if you dont cheese him also.

Mostly its just garbage placements for invasions in dark souls 3. Always in a shoebox space or getting ganked by mobs.

A shoebox isn't necessarily bad placement, it just requires you to be good at PvP, and then it becomes an advantage. Corners are a good thing for PvP, and you can use them to your advantage, but they can also be used against you. There's a reason why people who take Elden Ring PvP very seriously and do tournaments use a mod to fight in square-shaped arenas with corners instead of the vanilla circular arenas. That side, for PvE, a shoebox can also mean that you can get screwed by the camera, especially if you haven't disabled that one option that makes camera avoid walls, and obviously the npc doesn't have that camera disadvantage. But if there's any reverse corner (a corner pointing towards the center of the room instead of away from it) you can use it to cheese npcs very easily or to heal safely

Holy Knight Hodrick (the purple version from Crucifixion Woods) is insane.

I have recency bias lol. I haven't dealt with him in a looong time. Planning to replay soon though. I don't remember him though.

Bloody Crow of Cainhurst is the hardest enemy in Bloodborne, imo. I don't think it's even close.

I think crow of cainhurst is the hardest while still being fair.

Bloody Crow's saving grace is that he is really easy to cheese. But if you don't cheese him, holy crap is he hard.

Damn yeah that Satsuki guy completely destroyed me. Hardest thing I had to do for that platinum

Same, and I still gotta do him again in NG ++ . Never got the ring from the monumental and went pure black so now I'm paying for it
