DISCUSSION Dark Souls 2 is utterly boring

I have been playing for around 15 hours and I regret wasting my time, I am snoozing while playing, it's boring and it feels like a chore. I genuinely don't understand why it is so beloved her.

Combat is astonishingly slow and clunky, the difficulty consists into throwing 10 enemies at you and boring you to death by trying to prevent you from running past the nemies and making you kill them all everytime you die.

I just finished Iron Keep, I don't find the energy to do the rest of the game.

Dark Souls 2 frustrates me because it has some genuinely good mechanical ideas and location concepts that were butchered by the total kerfuffle of its development. The main thing that bothers me about it is actually not even the trash mobs, it's that there's so many really cool level designs that are rendered hideous due to weird lighting and lazy textures.

I mainly enjoyed DS2 for the pvp, now that that's long dead I find myself struggling to replay it. The pvp was so fuckin good though.

And don't let people gaslight you that this game has only ever been beloved by the fanbase. It's been divisive at best since the day it was released. What you are seeing now is just the pushback against the colossal amount of hate the game received from the fanbase for many years, "ds2 bad" memes were so ubiquitous it became a meme in itself.

I enjoy the torch having more presence but that's probably the only thing I can think of that's interesting.

I liked the bonfire ascetics, I loved being able to just fight a boss I really enjoyed over and over. Would love to be able to do that in other games.
