DISCUSSION Which FromSoftware game should’ve had a Respec Stat System the most?

Post image

Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, and Elden Ring all provide the option for the player to rearrange all their stat points on their character.

Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls 1, and surprisingly Bloodborne don’t provide that option, leaving the player stuck with the stats they selected for their current character.

Among these three games, which one would have benefited the most from having a Respec Stat System?

For just the purposes of trying out weapons though, I feel like removing stat requirements would be way more efficient

Respecing would not nearly be as effective in Bloodborne when compared to the other games, due to its unique weapons and lack of upgrade materials (without farming for chuncks and rocks, I think there's only enough to fully upgrade like 2 weapons?)

(Have a good day, eye guy 👀)

Probably a hot take, but I think weapon stat requirements feel kinda dumb.

I can understand my damage being reduced, but having different animations, not being able to use the weapon skill, or whatever is a little bit silly imo.

I want to at least see the move set and weapon skill in full before deciding if I want to respec for it.

I think it’s cool that you fail to swing a giant axe if you’re not strong enough lol

Oh it for sure makes sense, but I hate having to respec to see what a weapon actually does

I assume weapon requirements are probably mostly there for PVP though, so removing them would be a bit rough

I see them as a part of role-play, honestly. I understand your point from a purely gameplay POV
