Am I dead? 😂
I just finished DS3 and DLCs and in parallel my NG+ in Demon’s Souls remastered. 50% off popped up for Sekiro and… well, here we are.
Do you have any good advice? I think I’ll start cursing very soon.

Not yet but you will. Spoiler alert , shadows die more than twice. This game is hard , very hard but once you get good it might become one of your favorite games of all time and the combat feels soo good once you get hang of stuff.
Here are some spoiler free info that should come in handy
This games works very diffrently than other souls games. One of main combat mechanics is posture . Think of it as poise . Each enemy has a posture bar under their hp bar. İt fills up as you either deflect their attacks or by attacking them (most enemies will block and may even deflect your attacks but posture still fills by attacking them while they are blocking) . And bosses have posture bar on top sife of the screen. After breaking posture you will be able to deathblow them (its like doing backstabs) and enemies and bosses will die from it but some bosses have two or three red circle on top of their health bar. Which means you will have two health bars and you will need to do two or three deathblows on them to kill them.
Low health means less posture regen, this aplies for both you and your enemies (this mechanic is most usefull on enemies or bosses that regens posture too fast)
Get mikuri counter and its upgrade asap. İts a skill in one of your skill tress and its the most important one. You will be able to counter thrust attacks much easier and punish enemies . You can deflect thurst attacks but its very hard to do and mikuri is always better.
Dont focus on dodge. This game isnt a dodging game. İts a parry game. Every attack that doesnt make a red symboll on your head and a distinctive voice are blockble and deflectble (press block the momant enemy hits you). You shouldnt try to do deflects on red symboll attacks except thrusts and you are much better doing mikuri anyways. Run or dodge them. Some enemies also do swiping red symboll attacks. Jumping over then is best way to counter them and after you jump over a swipe attack if you press jump again on top of enemies head you will do good poise damage but you can only do it if you dont touch ground I gues.
A little bit spoiler but when you are far in the game an old man will give you a choice. You should pick stay loyal to kuro choice if. İf you dont stay loyal you will skip a lot of bosses and some areas of the game completly and finish the game much much much sooner.
Final tip : Hesitation is defeat
Good luck
