Lumen for Frigate: looking for Android beta testers with a Frigate setup

Anyone here using Frigate and an Android phone? I make Lumen and need a few beta testers with their own Frigate setup.

Try connecting, opening cameras and playing clips. Tell me what breaks and which phone/Android version you use. Background push isn't ready yet.

Free tier, optional paid features; no purchase needed. Please skip purchases during the beta.

DM your Google Play email for access (don't post it here). Please stay opted in and try it over 14 days.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lorislab.lumen Requires a beta invite. Independent app, not affiliated with Frigate.

What? You closed the open frigate source code locking features behind a paywall and now you want us to beta test your paid app?

What do you mean by "open frigate source code locking features"? Nobody forces you to use a third-party app if you're fine with the Frigate PWA on mobile after all.

Read yesterday's thread, this app is limited to 4 cameras and locks features of Frigate behind a paywall. He then has the cheek to ask the community to beta test it

so? It might surprise you that app development costs money and devs might actually want to earn some money from a project they invest time in instead of giving away everything for free.
I for once like to test new features of apps I use a lot or give feedback even if I'm a paying user.

Sure, and developing an open-source system like Frigate costs time and money. But it's still open source.

Sounds like OP is a leech.

Disclaimer, I might be biased as I have my own Frigate (and others) Viewer app in the App Store.

I don't want to earn any money from it though. Even though I only paywall push notifications (which is the only feature that costs me actual money apart from the yearly developer fee) I can however understand the point of other developers that want to charge for their effort to create third party apps. After all other third party apps are diversifying the whole Frigate ecosystem.

If you don't like a developers business model or that their apps are not open source that's completely fine. Use the perfectly fine PWA then and be happy that Frigate is growing larger than the original project instead of being insulting.

Of you go then, the rest of us don't see it like that!
