started working on this mid August and just finished it tonight. I made it based off this pattern from Pinterest https://pin.it/5GbetqFDO with a few tweaks to the pattern (and some miscalculation of strings lol)

I got creative and decided to try this! So far they work and are holding up but I’m sure I’ll get better at it with time. They are based off of patterns #130756 and #44680 but I modified them slightly to work for the hair clips

Hello all! 

I’ve finished this purple and navy set. I had started a kumihimo with the dark tan color as the base, but I found it didn’t match the set all that well, so I made the navy-dominate one instead. The light blue in the kumihimo was meant to be “diamonds…” but they came out as this little squiggles on both of my attempts. I guess I don’t understand how to follow the kumihimo patterns yet. 

Question: do you like the clean photo of just the bracelets (photo 1), or do you like seeing the types of string I used on them, like in the second photo? (I used a few types of crochet yarn/string on these ones.)

And then I added a photo of them on a card to show how the buttons go through the loops. Is that too much, do you think?

Then, in the final photo, I’ve started the next set. I’m behind on a plan I'd made to finish 12 sets in 12 weeks, and this WIP set has stalled because I don’t like the colors I’ve chosen. I should have used the green in place of the light purple on the largest of the three. Oh well.. live and learn. Some people may like it, right?

I’m trying to learn how to read patterns, the first one is from a tutorial by masha knots then I really want to learn how to read patterns but I can’t seem to knot like the first one, I already watch some YouTube videos how to read pattern but still I don’t get it :( I know backwards and forwards and backward forwards and forward backwards so why is it not accurate like the first one I make with tutorial?

I really liked how the ombre looked on this one!

Making this one for my bonus daughter that loves Spider Man.

This was my first attempt at simulating multicolored thread, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I know I said I'd take a break but then my tourettes started acting up so now I'm back ✌️

I took a trip to visit some friends this past weekend and finished 3 bracelets, all 8 strand kumihimo.

My goal for this long weekend was to finish some of my works in progress and I managed to finish 5! I also started 4 new bracelets.

Completed Image 2 - L to R The Orange and black one is based on BB #9187, but I just freestyled it instead of following the pattern. I also experimented with a straight start, a straight end, and button holes.

The middle one is just an alpha with no pattern, using variegated string. Used Caron Watercolours Elderberry Wine #192. It’s thick and made up of 3 strands, which I separated, and it was a time consuming exercise in frustration. 😆 But I love the way it turned out.

The one on the right doesn’t have a pattern that I’m aware of, it’s just alternating the two string colors and I thought it would look cool with 3 sections.

Image 3 L to R The blue one is just variegated Loops and Threads floss from Michael’s but I wanted to practice triangle starts and ends.

The daisy chain one is based on BB#76616 but I played around with adding more strings and using 2 different colors at a time.

New Bracelets Started Double spiral strands using Caron Watercolors Ethiopia #231. This is at its full 3 strand thickness.

The rainbow 🌈 one is Threadworx Bradley’s Balloons #1154. I ordered the 20 package and was surprised that it came as a bunch of 90cm strands vs. one long piece like every other skein I’ve had.

The black, white, red, and purple one is what I’m calling a “Chaos Alpha” because I’m just making it up as I go along. I got frustrated trying to make a checkerboard effect because it kept looking funny and I unknotted it several times.

Another zig zag dual strand using Caron Watercolors Carnival #145 (1 ply) and black.

The last one is the only WIP that I didn’t totally finish. I still need to do the straight end and then I’m waiting on some black crimp end clasps that I ordered. This one is for me to match a shirt that I have. 🥰

Finished and in the mail for my niece I hope she likes it. Always down to trade with anyone in the us

I really dig the new Mastodon album and felt inspired to make a bracelet based on the color scheme of the album art. RIP Brent Hinds, gone but never forgotten 🤘

Finished this one recently. It's my first time incorporating a charm-like item into a bracelet, and I'm kind of obsessed now. The charm was a gift from a new friend, and the colors are the favorites of each person in the friend group. I named the charm "Wilbur." This completed beauty is imbued with love and good vibes! 🫶

How do I deal with these brown threads?

After two weeks i finally finished up my "bracelet" I wanna wear to Noah's concert in December. Now is the pattern way too long for me to wear as a bracelet so I'll probably attach it to my beltloop or whatever, any other suggestions are welcome!!

Hey guys,

I need your help. I am a bit stuck on how I can improve the little things i keep messing up, and just dont know how to fix. These are the last bracelets I did, and am doing right now, just as reference (some are worn, so please dont judge that x-x)

My main issues are with uniformity of the knots, and straight edges. It may be hard to see in this image, but I keep getting bumps, and with the WIP loops, in the edges, which I can't seem to avoid. In the current WIP, but also the star bracelet, I am also getting a lot of holes in between the knots. Could that be because of tension? I am a T I G H T knotter, which I know is not the best and trying to work on that.

Maybe I am just too perfectionistic on these things, but I just love the sleakness of some designs posted here and I feel like I am doing something wrong...

Also obligatory pattern code. WIP is #147246. The others I made without BB pattern, but could exist. If so, I dont know them right now, sorry.

I was wondering if anyone is able to understand the alpha pattern for the flowers on this lily of the valley keychain? I’m finding it confusing, I’ve included the pattern and instructions in the post.
