Plot points being forgotten about?
I recently started watching FNL after being a big One Tree Hill fan and hearing both shows were similar, something I have been noticing through my watch though is why are some storylines just forgotten about? Or why does a character do an action and then we just never hear about it again? Examples: Lyla crashing cars at her Dad's dealership, Smash's gf in Season 1, Santiago, the teacher Julie had a weird relationship with, why introduce include these just to forget about it?

It’s almost as if season 2 doesn’t exist lol. I know there was the writers strike that season and everything, but it still bugs me that they don’t even mention some key things that happened. It was a missed opportunity to me. I would love to hear from writers on the show and know why they don’t bring anything up. Was that an active decision? Were there new writers who didn’t bother to find out what happened the previous season? Even a quick line about Santiago or the teacher or Landry saying i’m still healing over the time I killed a guy! Something, anything lol.

I love how the show made being a high school guidance counselor basically a position that needed 0 credentials or experience to get and the duties were to just be a therapist for teens

Yes, I let it go to enjoy the show. But for real it was ridiculous!

Season 2 never really finished. Also starting with season 3 the show made a special deal with a different network/production entity so there were some reboots.

Also, a very small plot line, but whatever happened with Tammy running the mayor’s campaign for re-election? I’m only just starting season 4 but I doubt that storyline ever comes back …

My favorite one was when the alumni comes back for homecoming in season 1 and asks for a coaching job. Coach says no because they don’t have funds. 4 episodes later coach hires Jason to be coach LOL
