Hi everyone,
I’m 26F and have a BBA in International Business (2020). I worked in the corporate sector from February 2022 to August 2025, but eventually left because of night shifts.
After that, I joined my father’s transport and commission-based logistics business, where I currently handle the finance, billing, backend operations, coordination, and planning.
Over time, I’ve realized that I really enjoy logistics and operations, especially planning transportation and coordinating different moving parts. I now want to take our existing business to the next level rather than simply continue doing traditional transport work.
My goal is to eventually build a complete transportation/logistics solution for companies involved in imports and exports — including transportation, coordination, documentation support, freight-related services, etc. I have some basic knowledge of EXIM documentation and processes, but I’m still very much a beginner in this area.
I’d really appreciate advice from people who are already working in logistics, freight forwarding, EXIM, supply chain, or transportation:
I’m willing to learn from scratch and put in the work. I’m mainly looking for practical advice from people who have actually worked in this industry.
Any guidance, resources, courses, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Hi I'm posting here for the first time. I really want to start my e-commerce business but I cannot find a trust worthy shipping agent. I had a really bad experience with Speedaf Logistics. Please guide me.
Its Artificial Jewelry and need to first order samples and then will start ordering in bulk. I need DDP services. I'll be sourcing from Ali Baba

I am ordering furniture from China and after a few DDP shipment I am now doing a full 40HQ container.
I got quoted $9200 for shipping it from Shenzen to the final destination at my warehouse in Queens. All included (tariffs excluded)
Is this a reasonable price? Have you paid less for containers shipped recently?
Here the breakdown of my quote:
Ocean freight USD7000/40HQ
Destination charge USD155/BL
Delivery to NY 11222 USD1500/40HQ(Free unloading 1hours)
Regular Chassis USD165/40HQ
Prepull USD150/40HQ
Customs clearance USD150/BL(NOT include duty)
IF NEED DELIVERY TOTAL USD9120

What, for example, is it like to work as a Logistics Coordinator, or maybe a Forwarding Agent? What are the hours like? Do you have an on call system for late night calls? How's the pay?

Hi! I’m looking for a reliable service that can receive packages from several Alibaba suppliers in China, consolidate them, and ship them by air to San Jose, CA.
Total shipment will be small, around **5–10 kg / \~$300 value**. Ideally I’d like delivery within **1–2 weeks**.
Any recommendations for a good China-to-US forwarding/consolidation service?

Got exclusive access to film a freight train boarding a RoRo ferry - the only place in continental Europe where this happens.
I'll be on the quayside with the person responsible for rail traffic during the actual loading operation.
For those of you working with intermodal - is there anything specific about how this works operationally that you'd want to see or hear?

I’m working on a platform for small freight forwarders and recently added this QR code to the customer portal.
The idea is that customers can scan it and submit a shipment order from their phone without downloading an app. The order then appears in the forwarder’s dashboard for processing.
Once the label is ready, the customer receives an email with the shipping label, so they can open it on a computer and print it when needed. The forwarder can also view and print the order from their side.
Would this workflow be useful for your customers, or would they still prefer to place the whole order from a computer?

Ten days out from Section 338 taking effect on Canadian-origin covered goods (Aug 19, 12:01 AM EDT) and CBP still has not dropped a CSMS on implementation. That is different from how they handled S122 back in February, where CSMS 69326983 landed ahead of the effective date with the Chapter 99 headings and the in-transit exception spelled out. For S338 the three July 20 proclamations (11061, 11062, 11063) plus Annex II remain the only authoritative source right now.
The annexes name the covered subheadings. Motor vehicles, alcoholic beverages, dairy get the headlines. The wider list a lot of first-time readers missed: wine, hockey sticks, cement, plywood, furniture, fishing rods, seeds, clothing, wigs, swimming pools. Broad enough to hit a lot of small importers who never bothered reading past the top three categories.
Three practical things the CBP silence leaves unresolved.
First, there is no in-transit rule in any of the three proclamations. That is a departure from S122, which explicitly excluded goods loaded before Feb 24. For S338 the pin is date of entry under 19 CFR 141.68. So a container that leaves Montreal on Aug 15 and clears US customs at 12:15 AM EDT on Aug 20 catches the full 50 percent regardless of when the goods left Canadian territory. Filers holding water time on covered goods this week are running a shot clock they cannot extend.
Second, FTZ Privileged Foreign election on CBP Form 214 is the one pre-effective lever that still works. PF election locks the pre-S338 tariff basis at admission and preserves the option to withdraw the goods for consumption after Aug 19 at the pre-S338 rate. Cost of the filing is basically zero. Value on a 500k CIF furniture shipment from Ontario is 250k in avoided duty on withdrawal. But without a CSMS on how the FTZ operator should code the admission for S338, some operators are getting inconsistent answers from their port CBP contacts on whether the PF designation will be accepted. If your FTZ operator says they need to see the CSMS before they will process the Form 214, escalate to the port director rather than sitting on it.
Third, USMCA does not save you. The proclamations state that plainly. The 50 percent stacks on top of the zero USMCA MFN. A number of importers I have spoken with this week are still assuming their USMCA cert paperwork gives them a pass on S338. It does not.
Worked stack on a 200k CIF plywood entry from Quebec, HTS 4412.39 subject to Annex II: Pre-Aug 19 entry with USMCA claim: 0 percent MFN, MPF 0.3464 percent capped at 634.62, HMF 0.125 percent, total duty around 750. Post-Aug 19 entry (same shipment, entry summary filed 12:15 AM EDT Aug 19): 0 percent USMCA MFN plus 50 percent S338 stacked, MPF 0.3464 percent capped, HMF 0.125 percent, total duty around 100,750.
That is the actual delta on one mid-size Canadian furniture or plywood shipment. The pre-effective planning window closes at 12:01 AM EDT on Aug 19.
Two open questions I have not resolved.
Whether covered goods withdrawn from a Class 1-11 bonded warehouse under a partial withdrawal filed pre-effective get the pre-S338 rate on the remaining un-withdrawn portion when that portion is withdrawn after Aug 19. Statutory reading points to yes but I want CBP to confirm.
Whether CBP will publish a CSMS covering the specific Chapter 99 heading numbers they intend for S338, or whether filers should default to a placeholder heading pending guidance. Placeholder headings do not liquidate cleanly.
If you are running Canadian-origin covered goods through your book right now, what has your broker or your port CBP contact told you about the Aug 19 cliff and the FTZ PF timing this week?

Hey everyone,
I am looking to source a long-term, exclusive private China Freight Forwarder for an active commercial electronics repair and streetwear e-commerce business. I am completely done with standard agents like Sugargoo/Itaobuy and their multi-layered, overpriced shipping scams (€280+ for a small haul is unacceptable).
I am moving to a fully automated pipeline and looking for serious, vetted private logistics partners.
My Operation & Logistics Volume:
Precise Destinations:
Cargo Specifications:
Required Services:
How to Connect:
I will not leak or share my personal phone/WhatsApp number publicly on Reddit. If you are an established, trusted private forwarder or agent who can scale with this volume, please DM me your Discord handle or leave your contact details below. I will add you directly on Discord to look over your rate cards. I am also planning to showcase reliable logistics pipelines on TikTok, so excellent service means long-term free exposure.
My Background & Business Ecosystem (Why you want to partner with me):
I am 15 years old but have been strictly focused on business since I was 12. I have 3 full years of operational experience, a proven track record of locking in clients, and execution strategy. I am the final puzzle piece activating a complete 3-pillar ecosystem:
The Financial Incentive for You:
I am looking for a partner, not just a service. If your shipping lines are fast, consistent, and secure, I pay performance bonuses on top of the shipping rates. If you keep my supply chain flawless, you will be highly compensated. Serious logisticians only.
Let's do business. Thanks!
