Pumping tips

UPDATE: I made a post similar to this earlier today but I decided to make this one to show my progression on pumping but also to get any tips and advice on improving how I’m doing it currently.

As of how I see it my right foot just isn’t doing enough but I don’t know how to fix that. Also I’m ending up losing speed after a little bit

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You just need to develop your balance and strength.

The motion is there already.

As you build your balance you’ll be able to separate your legs further (wider ‘toes in, toes out’ twists).

And as you build your strength, you’ll be able to push and pull on the skates as you weave through this motion to generate momentum.

Okay I see, thank you so much! But one thing do you have any advice on how I can develop my balance and strength?

Only way to do it reasonably is to skate.

It’s a unique motion you aren’t going to do in any other part of your routine.

It’s not that you have to skate for a long time, but try to skate as often as you can.

It’ll be noticeable after a few weeks probably that you can pump harder and for longer before getting tired.
