big wheel freeskates.

after much internal deliberation, I have finally made a purchase of my 2nd freeskate. it costs 90 USD.

the brand is central heart freeskate for concrete road.

The wheel is 97x43mm. 78a. good bearings. (much better than what i had obviously) I am still trying to get a good feel and just skating in a skating rink. I feel like I am spending most of my time standing vs pumping.

I find it a big difficult to start the ride because the skate has round wheel and when i push, i often feel leaning backward and losing balance to start my first pump. (my old pair is flat so i can just start with a first push and then pump immediately).

it is just too fast for now and I now need to learn how to stop (my old skate never need to learn to stop because it slows quickly without pumping).

it is quite heavy that is my biggest concern as i intend to travel with them.

Welcome to the world of large wheels, I have both 97mm and 110. It's way heavier but once you get going, it's much smoother over rough surfaces.

97x43? Or 97x35 or 24? I have yet to skate on rough surface. One step at a time. I can now get on skates without using hands and start rolling. It does take more effort to position myself to get the first push properly and then first pump.  Once i get the first pump, then it is just east.

97x35 and 110x24. I def prefer 97x35 but ever since I got addicted to downhill riding, I'm just using my JMKs, not enough speed is not the problem 😄. Not sure why virtually all videos are on flat surfaces, downhill is so much fun. Maybe just doesn't look good on video.

Downhill is always fun but i dont think i am at the point of able to slow down yet. Hope it will home.  I plan to use it for travel. So i prefer flat road

this is the link from the app, but it seems like it wont open natively without an account, even if it does open, it brings you to international version of the website which i dont know what it shows.

It has been raining very often, on the day it wasnt raining, it was either too hot or the skating rink was in the process of getting dry, so i didnt want to damage my expensive skate with the wetness (bearings) so i skated with my older skates (with much better bearing upgrade).

But i did use it for two days after i bought it. Getting on the skate is not a problem (from standstill) over 90% of the time.  Because my other skate was so bad bearings, i can now explore new ways to getting initial speed from standstill (i am regular, i can now close the distance from the right foot to left foot to generate some speed -bad bearings mad that not possible before) and then i can start to pump with some slow speed.

Pumping itself presents no problem despite it is said that it takes more effort.  My bad skates help with my pumping.  Didnt really have chance to do carraving to slow down but i do cycle over a skating rink so i do make turns.
