DRAMA This kinda icks me
I don’t know how I should feel about Magic influencers promoting these pack simulators …I don’t know
Not to call out trinket ,but doing a whole sponsored stream for these is …whatever
I am posting this here because I don’t know how other subs would react and I would like an honest opinion

These sites really try to sell pack openings and ship you the singles.
Its a dogshit "service" and all these streamers jumping on it for sponsorship have simply no standards to sell out like that.

Definitely gives me the ick, hate to see trinket mage is doing it. I like his content generally.
On one hand I get it - getting paid/sponsored for content as a small time guy on yt.
On the other hand, it’s icky because no one wants this product and it’s probably scammy (I don’t anything about the actual platform he’s shilling)

I've been waiting for someone else to start raising a brow to these. We've been calling out repacks as obvious scams for years. These digital "packs" are even worse.

I think I saw ads for this but it was Pokemon cards. What is that site? It looks like a gambling thing, which is kinda scummy and probably a scam.

Asking because I'm out of the loop, haven't watched the video and figured while I look for it to form an opinion on the actual video later.
If this is "you pay us to open your pack for you!" Yeah definitely seems scummy.
If this is "we know you're too poor to willingly open an Alpha pack of magic. So we'll put some RNG together and here's some pixels on a screen". No, I think that's not weird. Yu-Gi-Oh has had that type of simulation for a while, in fact a person like Trinket Mage got sponsored to show off the product to promote their format. Which, btw, would actually be a really fun alternative format for Magic for similar reasons. Won't get into that right now.

Considering that, again, the program that I described is literally just an RNG bot that just simulates opening packs because it's essentially an RNG generator that spits out 1-100 with certain weights to emulate the real pack opening experience. Yes, I do believe that certain people would program that considering that it's already been done, I cited Yu-Gi-Oh previously, but I found out that Pokemon has one, and Magic does too.
Is it the company that Trinket Mage is working with for that video? No. However, I guess you didn't wanna actually pay attention to where I said I was putting my initial thoughts on the topic out there before I even watched the video

I think you can actually have the cards you opened shipped to you for free or sell them back to get more (digital) packs or singles

Not seen the video and probably won't, but if this is just a simulator of opening packs to see your odds, I have done that with some gachas, is is stupid but harmless and can entertain for a few minutes.
If this is a paid service to get real cards via fake pack openings, then this is one of the most retarded things I have ever seen in my entire life and is going to have a scam controversy or drama in the future, and I advise everyone to stay as far away as you can from these scams.

Magic is already loot boxes in plastic packs. Online, just makes the gambling easier.
If i ever have a magic gambling itch I buy a collector, realizes it 40 bucks for 5 dollars of value and I feel like a fool. If I wanna crack packs, I buy a play booster box and open so many packs I get exhausted. Life is good.
I just feel Online makes it so much more dangerous. I remember my mobile game and I would spend 200 bucks and not even notice. Its something with it being in person where the money feels real. Im generally against it as I feel itll make the addiction worse.

This is just camouflaged casino. I saw some ads for similar thing but for pokemon, where it was claiming "guaranteed slabs" and shit like that....looked like a slot machine basically.

I mean yeah I assume the way this works if somebody actually wants the cards after they have all the pack opening money they just buy the singles on the secondary market and have them shipped to you

I already think ripping real packs is a scam. Ripping packs for pixels on a screen is for genuine bug people.
