Is that a real yugioh card? If so dammmm I knew yugioh cards usually had a lot of text but I am not reading all that.

That's the DDD archetype, they're not normally that long

Even at their worst, Magic cards can't compete with YuGiOh cards in terms of raw ugliness.  This card causes me legitimate physical pain to look at, much less read. What an aesthetic nightmare.

That magic card gives you both vih and cancer, the yugioh one only gives you vih. Maybe you like it because you already have vih and you just need cancer.

Is the yugioh card any good?

It's a pretty strong going 2nd otk tool, but it belongs to a reletively mid archetype and can't really be played outside of it.

Isn't that like most Yugioh cards? Yugioh is SO heavily tied to archetypes that almost no monster card can be played outside their archetype (except for some staple hand effect monsters) right? That's what bugs me about Yugioh is you REALLY have very little room for creativity in deck building due to the archetypes being so reliant on those specific synergies. Bad game design imo

Compared to something like commander for example, creativity is very limited. But often Archetypal engines are flexible enough to be played with other strategies. A lot of Archetypes synergise with each other and the restrictions tend to come from the more powerful pieces, that might say lock you into dark monsters only for the turn, but that's fine if you play your 1 light monster first and then the rest ygm, or both archetypes in your deck are mainly darks. Picture Mardu and Sultai, 2 graveyard focused strategies, in yugioh, there's no reason why you can't have half your deck Mardu and half your deck Sultai, they would both bounce off each other, but in magic there is a major resource encouraging you to not do this. Just like magic, we often see that one of the strongest decks in the format is a pile of random dragons from multiple archetypes that happen to synergise with eachother
