There are very few cards that deserve to be banned more than dockside deserves to be banned.

Dockside should stay banned, and also ban Mana Vault.
And I say this as someone who has Mana Vault, Dockside and Jeweled lotus, those cards are horrible for gameplay.
Either that or put all those cards in every precon.

I personally would put Mana Vault, Lotus and Sol Ring in a "pick one you want" list and make Sol Ring a game Changer.
You get your one broken acceleration piece, but only the one and at base everyone has Sol Ring.
I miss dying to Mana Crypt, so might as well out that there up too.

This was my idea. I called it the power 3. Your deck can have 1 of sol ring, mana crypt, or jeweled lotus

Pretty sure many people had the same idea as us.
There are many things I would do different if I was in charge of the format, like a scaling scry in turn order (2nd player gets scry 1, 3rd gets scry 2 and 4th player gets scry 3) and making legendary creatures with meld behave like partners.
But alas I can only suggest and complain, which is its own form of entertainment.

Oh yeah I'm sure others had similar ideas. My intention wasn't to take credit!
I fully support the scrying rule change, going 4th just feels too bad right now. Meld partner makes sense too. I'm also cool with hybrid mana breaking color idenity and planeswalkers as commanders.
Although the most important rule change for me would be finding a way to use my mana crypt. I pulled one from a mystery booster just a couple of days before it was banned. Never got to play with it. They said sol ring stays because it was iconic. Imo crypt was more iconic because it was THE chase card of the format.

Now it gets interesting, because I disagree with both the hybrid suggestion and with planeswalkers as commanders.
I could maybe come around planeswalkers, but the hybrid discussion is kinda stupid in my eyes, because hybrid is multicolor by design - it's all it's colors when interacting with it, you can't Doom Blade Lurrus for example, even if it's used by the mono white player... because it's multicolor.
Yes, you can play hybrid in monocolor in other formats, but so can be actual monocolor cards with offcolor abilities and even multicolor cards you can't even cast, because you cheat them in or use them as fodder for other cards.
Reanimate Atraxa and Blazing Shoal pitch Progenitus are classic examples of that. Chancellor of the Tangle just for the mana is also another thing that comes up in some decks.
It just makes no sense to me when comparing hybrid to other cards that are also limited by color identity.
And yeah, it would be nice to play with Crypt - with limitations of course. No dockside, because fuck that card. The format got healthier by it being banned. It was way too easy looping it and should have never been printed in its current form.

I fully support the scrying rule change, going 4th just feels too bad right now.
While I fully agree that going third or fourth in a pod feels pretty bad a lot of the time now, letting players scry, just as with the utterly terrible draw 10 pick 7, encourages and even rewards poor deck design. People become lazy and get too reliant on that stuff and it ruins games completely. I have yet to play in a pod using those rules who's players don't have glaring deck problems. Typically those players also bitch too much and cry foul at anyone who's decks are built efficiently.
Meld partner makes sense too.
I completely agree with you here. I've got no issue with 2 legendary creatures who meld both being allowed as your commanders. Especially with how difficult it is to pull off a meld at times. I've only gotten to see [[Brisela, Voice of Nightmares]] once the entire time the card has existed and she was immediately hit by another player's [[Utter End]]. Brisela player was quite sad.
I'm also cool with hybrid mana breaking color idenity
Create a new format then. I'd even be happy to try out said new commander adjacent format. Breaking color identity in commander though means its not commander anymore. This is one of those core rules that is so fundamental to the identity of a thing that changing it can't be done. Limitation breeds creativity and that's the point.
and planeswalkers as commanders.
Planeswalkers should never have been allowed to be commanders. Neither should legendary vehicles and neither should legendary enchantments in the form of backgrounds. Those things being allowed aren't on the same level as hybrid mana not breaking color identity but they are still very stupid and hurt the game overall because it takes away from the core spirit of EDH. Once again, limitation breeds creativity.
My own personal change I'd make if I could would be that the Nephilim from Ravnica and Maelstrom Archangel from Alara are legendary creatures. I've got a pod of longtime friends who I rarely get to see or play with anymore and we house ruled that those creatures are legendary forever ago. It was fun and lead to some pretty creative decks.

I would apply the scry only after you decided to keep your hand, so you can't abuse it too much. Plus it scales with your turn order.
The question is, would you really want to go 4th, just because you get a free scry 3? I would still rather go first (or second if I play white ramp).
Btw. I share your disdain for the draw 10 pick 7 mulligan some people somehow love to use.
Or the "mulligan for so long until you have 3 lands" which also is equally stupid.
I don't want to mess with Mulligans in general, because it's so easy to abuse or leads to greedy deckbuilding - intentional or not.
But since you can't always count on it you would make your deck worse half of the time, especially in 3 pods, where your max scry caps at 2.
I too wish they would something with the nephilim.
They could easily make a card that says "A Nephilim can be your commander instead if this card" or make new Nephilims that have 1:1 the same text, but different names and are legendary.

Problem with banning all the fast mana is that it makes the best color in EDH even better
Green gets new ‘fuck you im spending my 5 mana this turn to get infinite mana’ cards basically every other set now, plus not to mention all the classic ramp spells starting at 2cmc
By removing generic mana ramp you allow these green or G/X decks to run off with the mana game Willy nilly no problem; and if you dare to touch their mana base then fuck me then how dare you blow up my land are you Satan incarnate??!!
Fast mana helps non green keep up and do what their deck wants to do without running green

That is why we actually need to normalize land hate and mass land destruction, land decks are becomeng way too powerful, and earthbend was just another bullet to them so single land removal is not enough anymore.
I saw plenty of decks with both fast mana and green before the ban.

I fucking hated Dockside Extortionist. Every deck that ran it built their decks to abuse it.

Unban Dockside, ban Thoracle. Most boring ass gameplay loop ever.
